Police were called to the incident involving pro-democracy Hong Kong protesters outside the embassy[/caption]
The video shows police officers scrambling to tear apart protestors clashing with consulate staff.
It appears embassy workers wearing surgical masks walked out of the consulate and began interfering with the demonstration.
The group claims the men vandalised signs and took away a satirical portrait of Xi Jinping before trying to pull two demonstrators into the consulate.
A group of people are seen in the clip standing over at least one person who appears to be held down as he is punched.

Former Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith told The Telegraph he wants to see the individuals who were involved to be removed from the UK.
He also expects a “full apology” from the Chinese embassy over the incident.
He said: “I will certainly raise this in the House.
It’s very simple – that is unacceptable, those individuals need to be sent home and there needs to be a full and unabashed apology from the Chinese ambassador because it’s absolutely appalling.”

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers attended the incident.
They said: “Police are aware of an incident that took place at around 3pm on Sunday 16 October 2022 at the Chinese Consulate in Manchester involving Hong Kong protestors.
“Officers responded immediately to diffuse the situation and enquiries are ongoing at this time to understand the full circumstances.
“A police patrol plan is in place in the area following this incident.”
A statement from a local business group, the Trafford Hongkongers CIC, said: “We express our deep concern on an incident in Manchester today (16th October 2022).
“We can see from the video clip that a Chinese Consulate staff member is trying to destroy private properties of the peaceful Hongkonger protesters.
“What’s more? We see from the video clip that Hongkongers were kidnapped into the Chinese Consulate areas by members of Chinese Consulate staff.
“We believe Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and our Foreign Secretary James Cleverly MP must inquire with the Chinese Consulate why it could happen in Manchester today.
“Any brute force and violence to peaceful protesters are not tolerable.
“Our thoughts are with those Hongkonger protesters in Manchester.”
RED EMPEROR
It comes as XI Jinping refused to rule out force to take Taiwan and unify the island with mainland China.
Addressing the congress of China’s ruling Communist Party, in which he is widely expected to win a third leadership term, Xi emphasised national security mentioning it a record 89 times.
The third leadership term is unprecedented in recent times and comes after the scrapping of the two term limit on Chinese presidents.

The limit was brought in after the horrors of the Mao Zedong whose unchecked power led to the death of millions from starvation and political violence.
The 69-year-old Xi is now poised to become the most powerful Chinese leader since Mao and used his speech in Beijing to oppose independence for Taiwan.
