The brothers reunited in a show of unity after the Queen’s death[/caption]
Her Majesty died peacefully aged 96, marking an end to her historic reign, prompting an outpouring of grief as the country went into national mourning.
In a show of unity, the Prince of Wales invited his brother and Meghan to join him and Kate to look at tributes for the Queen.
But a palace insider says it may have been tougher than it looked to the hundreds of people who caught a glimpse of the royal couples.
They told People: “It was awkward. Both couples found it hard.

“They were in a stoic spirit of just getting through it for the Queen.”
The Sun has approached Buckingham Palace for comment.
Prince William’s eleventh hour olive branch to Harry for their reunion led to a tense 45 minute delay so the US-based couple could be included in the walkabout.
A royal source said: “It was an important show of unity for the Queen.”
William and Kate were originally expected to meet the public from 4.30pm in Windsor.

The foursome then emerged from the same car at 5.15pm to the surprise of the waiting crowds.
They spent 40 minutes looking at the sea of tributes left for Her Majesty outside the gates of the Berkshire castle.
Before the display of unity, brothers had barely spoken for 2½ years after the Sussexes left for the US.
And it was the first time the couples have been seen in public as a foursome since Commonwealth Day in March 2020.
A senior Palace source said: “The Prince of Wales invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join him and the Princess of Wales earlier.
“The Prince of Wales thought it was an important show of unity for the Queen at an incredibly difficult time for the family.”
But it is understood past wounds haven’t fully healed, and the walkabout was more a temporary truce.
The quartet initially appeared strained as they turned left through the gate to look at the thousands of flowers.
As the crowd applauded, a nervous-looking Meghan, 41, held Harry’s hand for reassurance.
Royal insiders claim William and his wife Kate were “relieved” when Harry and Meghan left for the US.
The Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly felt “a sense of relief” when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to give up royal life to move to California because “the drama was gone”.

Ukraine rains down barrage of Himars missiles on meeting of pro-Kremlin officials in Russian-occupied city
UKRAINE unleashed a barrage of missiles on Russia’s headquarters in Kherson yesterday during a meeting of top pro-Kremlin officials.
Ukraine has launched a major offensive to take back territory in the south, including Kherson – the only large city captured by Russian forces in the first few days of the war.
Russian-backed separatists said Ukrainian forces bombarded government buildings[/caption]
The stunning Ukrainian counter attack has caught Putin’s invaders by surprise and sent thousands of terrified Russian soldiers fleeing for their lives.
On Friday, shocking footage showed smoke billowing from the roof of the city’s Russian-occupied administration building after Ukraine’s missile attack.
Russian-backed separatists in the city said Ukrainian forces had bombarded government buildings – killing at least three people and leaving 13 wounded.
Pro-Kremlin officials had reportedly been meeting in the building, which served as the headquarters for the Russian occupiers in the area.

Kirill Stremousov, the Russian-installed deputy leader of Kherson, said the Ukrainian missile attack directly hit his office, with five Himars rockets blasting the area, The Telegraph reports.
Eketerina Gubareva, the deputy head of Kherson’s Russian-controlled city hall, was also caught up in the blast.
She wrote on Telegram: “There was smoke and ringing in my ears. I came round when someone pulled me out.
“A young guy dragged me from the ruins. I’m alive, and back at work. We are tallying our staff.”

It’s not clear if any pro-Kremlin officials were killed in the assault.
Kherson, a strategically important city, is seen as the ultimate target for Ukraine’s counter-offensive.
The lightning assault by Ukraine that freed thousands of square miles from Russian occupation has left both sides asking if the blitz could be the tipping point in the war.
Russia has lost an estimated 80,000 soldiers who have been killed, captured and injured or who have deserted, according to government estimates.
It comes as four of Putin’s top officials in occupied Ukraine were killed in explosions in the latest blow to the Russian tyrant.
In one attack, an official organising a bogus referendum on joining Russia was killed alongside her husband.
Lyudmila Boyko headed the election commission in the Zaporizhzhia region, and had been preparing to go along with Kremlin plans for a poll.
She died alongside her husband, Oleg Boyko, 46, who was also a senior local official and they were killed near their garage.
Hours earlier, General Prosecutor of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic Sergey Gorenk, 40, was killed in an explosion in his office alongside his 44-year-old deputy Yekaterina Steglenko.
Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Russian Investigative Committee, accused what it called the “criminal” government in Kyiv for the “monstrous crime”.

The Putin ally added that a criminal case has been opened into the two killings.
Recent weeks have seen an upsurge in targeted assassinations of officials who have been shot, blown up and poisoned for working with the hated invaders.

Mr Johnson has told how the monarch was “absolutely on it” as she met with him and his successor Liz Truss.
The Queen was pictured beaming as she met with the new PM before her death was announced little more than 48 hours later.
Mr Johnson told the BBC he found her passing “shocking” given how “bright” she had been two days prior.
He said: “The last audience I had with her – one of the reasons it was so shocking on the 8th, to hear about her death – was because in that audience, she had been absolutely on it.

“Just two days before her death. She was actively focused on geopolitics, on UK politics, quoting statesmen from the 1950s, it was quite extraordinary.
“She seemed very bright, very focused.”
Mr Johnson did reflect, however, that the Queen was “clearly not well”.
He added: “I think that was the thing that I found so moving when I heard about her death, when we all heard about her death on Thursday, two days later.

“I just thought how incredible that her sense of duty had kept her going in the way that it had.
“Given how ill she obviously was, how amazing that she should be so bright and so focused. So it was a pretty emotional time.”
The Queen spent her final days at Balmoral having fun with family, reading the Racing Post and watching TV with staff.
Right up until her death the Queen welcomed visitors who kept her company.
The last weekend before she died Dr Iain Greenshields, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, stayed with her at the castle.
He said she was in “really good spirits” and told how he was moved by how she spoke about her beloved Prince Philip.
They had dinner together on Saturday and lunch on Sunday – and even eerily brushed on the subject of afterlife.
And he said the Queen seemed to be delighted to be spending time at her beloved highland home.
He said: “In conversation with her, she took me over to the window and she was looking over her gardens with great pride and affection.

“And I think that’s where she would have wanted to spend her last days and I would think the family are comforted by that.”
She then went on to “reflect on life” as they discussed her faith and the afterlife.
