My dream five-star TUI holiday turned into a nightmare when I was struck down with horrific ‘mystery illness’
A DAD’S dream five star TUI holiday turned into hell when he was struck down with a horrific “mystery illness”.
Liam Garnett was placed on a drip after being hit with suspected gastroenteritis while holidaying with his family over Easter.

The dad-of-two claims he was suffering with symptoms similar to gastroenteritis[/caption]
The man from Oldham, was left suffering in hospital after what he claims was a food poisoning outbreak at a five-star hotel in Turkey, according to Manchester Evening News.
The 37-year-old was on holiday with his partner Gabrielle, 30, and his two kids when he fell ill.
He claims his two children aged four and six also suffered from horrific symptoms such as diarrhoea and vomiting and one is still off school because of their sickness.
When Liam returned home from the nightmare trip, he needed further treatment and underwent tests including abdomen and chest x-rays.
The dad-of-two is now among dozens of holidaymakers allegedly taking legal action against TUI for the horror stay at the Rixos Sungate Hotel.
Liam said the family booked the holiday as they were hoping for a relaxing break from the stresses of work life and decided to stay at the 1,076-room resort in sunny Turkey.
The Rixos Sungate Hotel also boasts a water park and 12 swimming pools – but the dream holiday soon turned into living hell when the family was struck down with the “mystery illness”.
Liam claims they saw food served uncovered at the resort, with cutlery and tables often left unwiped and dirty.
He also claims he saw cats in the restaurants and chefs smoking around the fire exits without washing their hands afterward.
The man from Manchester said: “It’s been a nightmare.”
He arrived during the night last month and went straight to the 24-hour buffet.
A few days later, he began feeling unwell before coming down with stomach cramps, chills and vomiting.
He added: “I couldn’t leave my bed. I couldn’t eat anything. I got room service to get something in me but I couldn’t eat it.
“I’m gutted. I’ve never been so poorly.”
But even though Liam is back home, he claims to still be suffering from his prolonged symptoms following the illness.
A spokesperson from TUI said they were “concerned” to hear that customers staying at the hotel had been falling ill during the last month.
But they added as Liam and his family had now brought legal action, they were unable to comment on their specific case.
They said: “We were very concerned to hear of small number cases at Rixos Sungate in Turkey, as the health and safety of our customers is our highest priority.
“Our team at resort are in close contact with our guests and offering support where necessary.
“Our health and safety team are investigating in close collaboration with the hotel and we will remain in frequent contact with our guests.
“We’d like to reassure all customers that we regularly audit all of our hotels in respect to health and safety, including hygiene. As this is now a legal matter, we are unable to comment on the specific cases.”
More than 25 other tourists were left bedbound with suspected food poisoning after staying at the five-star TUI hotel.
They were originally told the weather was to blame for the violent sickness sweeping through the all-inclusive resort.
Holidaymakers were reportedly living off a banana a day after being too scared to eat at the 24-hour buffet, or too ill to eat at all.
They were also told they would be charged if they wanted to transfer to a separate hotel.

Cybersecurity Nightmare in Japan Is Everyone Else’s Problem Too
The company is just one name on Japan’s long list of recent cyber victims. Ransomware attacks alone soared 58% last year compared to a year earlier, according to the National Police Agency, and hacking incidents have exposed shortcomings ranging from slow incident response times to a lack of transparency. In a nation that exported chip components worth $42.3 billion last year — dominating the supply of some materials — supply chain issues can have global implications. […] But while Japan has its own particular problems with hackers, many of its vulnerabilities are shared by the US and other technologically strong nations. From the Colonial Pipeline attack in the US to the Australian telecoms hack that exposed 10 million users’ personal data, wealthy countries have been repeatedly caught underestimating the harsh realities of cybercrime.

Eamonn Holmes learns to walk again using a harness as he undergoes gruelling physio in ‘nightmare’ health battle
EAMONN Holmes has revealed he is using a harness to help him learn to walk again following his horrific fall last year.
The broadcasting legend, 63, has been pictured standing up in the harness during a gruelling physiotherapy session.

Eamonn has a determined look on his face in the photograph and has told his fans that he is ‘walking with purpose’.
He captioned the snap: “Learning to walk with purpose today. Gosh I’m trying so hard.
“The harness gives me more confidence than I have . Wish me well .”
Eamonn, who is married to Loose Women star Ruth Langsford, has been inundated with messages of support since opening up about his treatment.
But in reply to S Club 7 star Jo O’Meara, the GB News anchor described his recover as a “nightmare”.
Jo had written: “Sending lots of love eammon .”
Sadly, he replied: “@jo_omeara When will this nightmare end?”
Friends and fans immediately rallied round in a bid to boost Eamonn’s positivity.
One told him: “Keep going Eamonn you’ve got this. We believe in you.”
Another wrote: “It will Eamonn. This is the hardest bit, as you retrain the muscles and brain connection. You can do it. Sending healing thoughts.”
And a friend told her pal: “Always cheering you on from the sidelines dear @eamonnholmes wishing you well x.”
TV presenter Lucy Alexander, whose 20-year-old daughter Kitty was left paralysed after contracting the virus Transverse myelitis aged seven, also replied to his post.
She told him: “I used to get kitty in the harness – this is GREAT!!! C’mon E you can do it. Super proud.”
Eamonn wrote back: “Please God .”
Last October, Eamonn underwent an operation after suffering from severe and chronic pain in his back.
But two weeks into his recovery he fell backwards down the stairs at the Weybridge home in Surrey that he shares with wife Ruth.
Last month Eamonn was spotted in a wheelchair as he left Wembley Stadium where he watched his team Manchester United beat Newcastle 2-0 to lift the Carabao Cup.
He has also been photographed using a pair of crutches.
After months off-screen Eamonn started making his return to TV in January, admitting he was struggling with staying indoors.
Recalling his horrific injuries, he said: “Suddenly it was as if someone had shot my left knee from behind.
“It literally collapsed without any warning. I was on a curve of the stairs, and I just went back down the stairs, boom, boom, boom down the whole staircase until I hit the stone floor in the hallway.
“Blood was pouring out my mouth, and a bone was sticking out my shoulder.”
Eamonn added to the Daily Mail: “Ruth came rushing down the stairs. She kept saying, ‘You’re fine, everything’s okay, you’re fine.’ I said, ‘Ruthie, there is a bone sticking out of my shoulder — I’m not fine’.”
Part of Eamonn’s rehabilitation is boxing sessions.
Earlier this week, he fans he is doing these specific exercises to help regain his balance again after the accident.

My nightmare neighbour calls the police every time I use my back garden – I need revenge
A MAN is fed up with his nightmare neighbours who call the cops every time he uses his back garden – and he’s on the hunt for revenge.
He took to social media to share his anger and seek advice on getting his own back.
A man’s nightmare neighbours call the cops every time he uses his garden[/caption]
He posted on Reddit’s ‘Neighbours from Hell’ forum to complain, saying his neighbours make a noise complain every time he is in his garden – regardless of what he was doing.
He wrote: “I have a corner neighbour that everytime I’m in my backyard calls the police for a noise complaint.
“BBQ – noise complaint. Sitting by the fire pit – noise complaint. Smoking a cig – noise complaint. Going outside to play with the dog – noise complaint. Hot tub – noise complaint.
“This neighbour will wait for exactly for 10 pm and then call for a noise complaint. I’ve had cops come to my back fence at 10.05 before. I’ve tried talking to them and they won’t talk to me and the cops always just say ‘well keep it down’.”
He decided to use his online network to get his revenge.
He hunted for solutions, posting: “So I’m looking to this community for advice on how to deal with them or petty ways to get back at them.”
Reddit users were quick to run to his aid, with many chiming in with their own ideas for revenge.
Some said the best way to get back at the neighbours was to try and prove they were harassing him.
One commented: “Document each occurrence. Day, time, type of complaint, and police officer’s names. Build a case for harassment.”
Another suggested: “Go to the police station in person and tell them about the situation and that you are being harassed by your neighbour. Let the cops show up and ask them if they hear any noise? Oh you don’t? Okay I’d like to make a harassment claim against them for abuse of emergency services. Get cameras if you don’t have them already.”
“Live your life”, a third commented, adding: “The neighbour isn’t going to stop because they suck. You can just continue to live, unbothered. I do feel bad for the neighbour, they live such a horrible and miserable life.”
One Redditor suggested making friends with the cops, writing: “Lean in to it. When the cops show up, tell them a funny story about the dog, tell them to swing by when they are off duty for some BBQ, or just talk about your special interest.
“Be polite and charming, make the neighbours look like idiots without being an obnoxious a**hole yourself.”
This situation is not the first time rows have happened between neighbours.
A man had their neighbour’s car towed away because they kept parking on his driveway.
Meanwhile, another Reddit user in the same situation responded by blocking the offender in with her own vehicle.
Plus, this dad has blasted his neighbours for putting up a 6ft fence “an arm’s length” from his front door to stop his son playing on land they are fighting over.
