After 6 years, David S. Pumpkins returns to ‘SNL’
Ever since his first appearance on Saturday Night Live back in 2016, the appeal for Tom Hanks as David S. Pumpkins was unclear but undeniable. The cult-like status and popularity of the character even got NBC to greenlight a Halloween special for him in 2017. And now in 2022, Hanks has donned that stupid suit once again.
This time, however, instead of the “Tower of Terror,” it’s “Cellblock 666,” a terrifying prison tour ride. One of the riders, Andrew Dismukes, has many questions about why David S. Pumpkins and his skeletons (Mikey Day and a returning Bobby Moynihan) keep appearing amongst the actual horror movie characters. This is a valid question to ask but as another rider (Jack Harlow) says “I’m kinda feeling him though, a nice change of pace.”
Dying Light 2 Stay Human’s First Halloween Event Turns Zombies Into Pumpkins
While Dying Light 2’s zombie-filled open world already feels ready for the spooky season, developer Techland has announced a week-long Halloween event to bring even more seasonal treats. The game’s dangerous volatiles have been turned into jack-o-lantern-esque “Pumpkintiles,” with all infected dropping a new currency called “Treats,” which can be traded for Halloween-themed goodies.
The All Hallows Eve event is active now, running from October 25 to November 4, with Techland describing it as Dying Light 2’s “biggest in-game event” since it released in February. The event calls back to the original game’s classic Halloween events, with visual updates scattering decorations around the world–including the pumpkin-headed volatiles.
Once players have collected enough Treats from infected, they can visit a new seasonal in-game vendor called Baka the Unfortunate, who will exchange Treats for potions with unusual new effects.
Two Point Campus’s Halloween update adds zombies, pumpkins and a new challenge mode
‘Tis the season to add zombies to your video game. Two Point Campus is the latest to get into the Halloween action with a new update, out now, which adds pumpkins, shambling undead, and a new challenge mode.
October means the video game pumpkins are back, baby!
As has been tradition for many a year now (three), Mayor Bones Proudly Presents: Ghost Town’s 1001st Annual Pumpkin Festival is back! I first reported on this free pumpkin carving game from Adamgryu (of A Short Hike fame) way back in 2020, when it was only the 999th festival, and Alice0 took a stroll around it last year, too.
This year the pumpkins are back, and better than ever. Download the Pumpkin Fest for pay-what-you-can on Itch, carve your very own pump with the tools provided, and place it among the efforts of others in a peaceful spooky scene. You can take a walk around and vote for your favourite pumps. But this isn’t the only pumpkin game to enjoy! I’ve found a couple of others, too. It’s the reason for the spooky season.
