Marvel’s Blade Put On Hold Due To Ongoing Writers’ Strike
Marvel Studios will pause pre-production on its upcoming vampire thriller Blade due to the ongoing writers’ strike, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Nic Pizzolatto, the creator of True Detective, was recently hired to work on the script, but according to an unnamed source, “time simply ran out.” Marvel plans to restart production once the strike is over. The studio had already paused production once before, and now Blade has become the first high-profile movie to be affected by the strike.
Late-night talk shows and Saturday Night Live have been among the TV shows affected by the writers’ strike, with Showtime’s Billions also halting production as studios fail to agree to new terms with writers.
New Video: Latto – ‘Put It On Da Floor’
Latto may not have struck the Billboard gold her fans were expecting with her latest single, ‘Lottery,’ but that hasn’t stopped the GRAMMY nominee from rolling the dice on its follow-up ‘Put It On Da Floor.’
Given an unofficial premiere at Coachella last month, the tune’s recorded version dropped shortly and garnered quite the polarizing buzz when some of its lyrics were perceived as disses to fellow rapstress Coi Leray.

I’m a redheaded woman in construction – when people say it’s a ‘man job,’ I put my hair up and get ready to fight
A REDHEAD has geared up in defense of her profession.
The woman in construction says she’s ready to fight anyone who calls it a “man’s job.”
Carly, a redheaded woman in construction, shared comments that she hated hearing at work[/caption]
Carly (@carly_bowlen) stood up for herself in a video shared with her TikTok followers.
The blue-collar worker shared a pet peeve that she hears all too often: “When someone says “this is no place for a woman,”’ she said.
Or even worse: “It’s a man’s job,” said another troll.
Mouthing along to So What by Pink, Carly revealed what she’d do to trolls in the future if they had the audacity to insult her.
“I wanna get in trouble, I wanna start a fight,” she said, rolling up her sleeves.
And just to make sure she really sent the message home, she tied up her hair to show she really meant business.
“I wanna start a fight,” she repeated with a menacing glare.
People took to the comments to share their thoughts on the redhead’s woes.
“Yep tougher than woodpecker lips,” said another fellow construction worker.
“Tougher than a 5 dollar steak,” Carly joked in reply.
“Linelife, glad to see you’re in the trade,” said another.
“Thanks, I appreciate that!” the redhead replied.

Brazilian court lifts nationwide Telegram ban put in place over data demand
A federal appeals court in Brazil on Saturday lifted the country-wide ban that had been put in place against Telegram earlier this week. Per Reuters, judge Flávio Lucas ruled a complete suspension of the messaging app was “not reasonable” given that thousands of people in Brazil who rely on the platform for their communication needs. At the same time, he upheld the daily $200,000 fine on Telegram for failing to provide local authorities with the data they requested.
The original ban came on Wednesday after a federal court instructed Apple and Google to temporarily remove the service from their domestic app stores. Brazilian authorities sought the suspension after Telegram failed to hand over a full set of data on a pair of neo-Nazi groups on the app accused of inciting violence against schools.
According to The New York Times, a teenager accused of committing two school shootings in November, which left three dead and 13 people injured, was involved with the two groups. Authorities say they saw Nazi content, violent videos and bomb-making instructions shared in those group chats. When it didn’t comply with the initial court order, Telegram reportedly said the two groups had been deleted and that it couldn’t recover the requested information. Telegram did not immediately respond to Engadget’s comment request.
This isn’t the first time Telegram has been briefly banned in Brazil. In 2022, the country’s highest court suspended the app for failing to freeze accounts accused of spreading disinformation ahead of the country’s recent presidential election. Similarly, that ban was lifted just days later.

We put up a fence to stop our creepy neighbour but he keeps finding a way to perv on my teenage girls
DEAR DEIDRE: OUR new neighbour is a peeping Tom.
He keeps finding ways to spy on me and my teenage girls despite my efforts to fit a garden fence and gate.
He is in his fifties and only leaves the house to walk his dog.
When we moved in, there was a small border that divided our gardens.
Each time my daughters would sit outside he would instantaneously appear in his garden to stare at them.
My daughters are 17 and 15.

The youngest says he gives her the creeps.
She tells me one day while I was out he approached her in the garden, complimented her on her dress and asked how old she was.
I’m 49 and that was it for me.
I ordered a garden gate and fence to be fitted that week to let him know I’m on to him, and to keep him away.
Since then, whenever my daughters or I are in the garden, hanging the washing even, I catch him looking from his upstairs window.
And now, to my astonishment, he’s installed CCTV cameras at the front and rear of his house.
The cameras at the back of his property are pointing into our garden.
I feel like he’s spying on us and it’s beginning to make me and my daughters feel increasingly uncomfortable.
None of us want to go in the garden.
I reported this to the police but they haven’t even spoken to him.
DEIDRE SAYS: Your home is meant to be a place of safety and you have every right to protect that.
You did the right thing to fit a fence.
While there’s no law against home owners installing CCTV, if you can demonstrate the cameras are pointing at your property this becomes a privacy issue.
Contact your local authority and the police again and ask them to investigate.
You can also contact the National Stalking Helpline (stalkinghelpline.org, 0808 802 0300) who help anyone who is being stalked or feels harassed.
