How to add RAM to a laptop
Returnal is coming to PC, but you’ll need 32GB of RAM to play comfortably
Sony’s Returnal is the latest PlayStation exclusive to make the jump to PC, but it comes with a hefty RAM recommendation (via WccfTech). While you’ll need a minimum of 16GB of RAM in your rig just to get it in a playable state, Returnal’s Steam listing recommends at least 32GB to get the most out of its gameplay and graphics.
To get an idea of how unusual this is, not even Microsoft Flight Simulator recommends this amount of RAM; it has a minimum requirement of 8GB of RAM and recommends 16GB. Meanwhile, other graphically-demanding PC games, like Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, Dying Light 2, and A Plague Tale: Requiem, don’t suggest more than 16GB of RAM.

M2 iPad Pro Tidbits: ProRes Video Support, RAM Configurations, and More
Despite being a fairly minor upgrade, there are some noteworthy changes, new features, and things you should know about with the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro. We’ve rounded up four tidbits below:
- “iPad Pro” is now printed on the back of the iPad Pro, unlike before.
- Despite the iPhone 14 removing the SIM card tray in the US, cellular models of the new iPad Pro still feature a SIM card tray. The iPad Pro also still supports eSIM.
- The iPad Pro now supports ProRes video recording in 4K at up to 60 FPS using the 12MP Wide camera.
- The 16GB memory confirmation of the iPad Pro is still only offered with 1TB and 2TB storage configuration models. Other configurations have 8GB of memory.
The new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro are available to order starting today and will begin shipping to customers on Wednesday, October 26.

Unlock a Ryzen 7000 upgrade with Prime Early Access Sale deals on DDR5 RAM
I was underwhelmed by Prime Day’s lack of compelling desktop RAM deals, and Amazon’s follow-up – the Prime Early Access Sale – is also pretty quiet for good memory discounts. However, there are some intriguing offers on DDR5 RAM, which is perfect timing: AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs have just launched, and unlike their Intel 13th Gen/Raptor Lake rivals, won’t be compatible with older DDR4 at all.

Get 32GB of fast DDR5-5600 CL36 RAM for $150 in the US
Higher speed, lower latency DDR5 is becoming more affordable, and in the US we spotted a great deal on TeamGroup memory over at Amazon. There, you can find a 32GB kit of DDR5-5600 CL36 memory for $150, reduced from its normal price of $180. That’s more expensive than 32GB of DDR4, but you’re getting a substantial increase in bandwidth and reduction in latency compared to the DDR5-4800 CL40 JEDEC standard.
