Here’s What Time Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Releases On Switch (Probably)
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is set for release on May 12 for Nintendo Switch. But when, exactly, does the game become available and can you pre-load it? We are still awaiting confirmation on both, but the clues are out there.
A listing on Nintendo’s website states that digital software also sold physically for Switch will “usually” be available starting at 9 PM PT the night before the official release date. If this does indeed apply to Tears of the Kingdom, then it looks like players can jump in starting at 9 PM PT on May 11 and 12 AM ET on May 12.
GameSpot has contacted Nintendo in an attempt to confirm the precision launch time for Tears of the Kingdom’s digital release. GameRant first reported on this.

Apple Releases New Firmware for AirPods Pro, AirPods, and AirPods Max
Apple does not offer immediately available release notes on what’s included in refreshed firmware updates for the AirPods, but the company does maintain a support document with release information.
There is no standard way to upgrade the AirPods software, but firmware is installed over-the-air while the AirPods are connected to an iOS device. Putting the AirPods in the case, connecting the AirPods to a power source, and then pairing the AirPods to an iPhone or an iPad should force the update after a short period of time.
You can check your AirPods or AirPods Pro firmware by following these steps:
- Connect your AirPods or AirPods Pro to your iOS device.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Tap About.
- Tap AirPods.
- Look at the number next to “Firmware Version.”
If we find notable changes after the firmware updates are installed, we’ll update this article, but the software likely includes performance improvements and bug fixes.

Apple Releases New Firmware for Beats Fit Pro and Powerbeats Pro
Apple does not offer information on what’s included in refreshed firmware updates for the Beats Fit Pro and Powerbeats Pro, so we don’t know what improvements or bug fixes the firmware brings.

If we find notable changes after the firmware update is installed, we’ll share details, but the software likely includes performance improvements and bug fixes rather than outward-facing changes.

Apple Releases Updated MagSafe Charger Firmware
The MagSafe Charger was initially released in the fall of 2020 alongside the iPhone 12 models, and this is the fourth firmware update that Apple has provided since the accessory launched.
Because firmware updates are released quietly over the air, Apple does not provide release notes. We do not know what new features or bug fixes might be included in the software.
There is no clear method for updating a MagSafe charger’s firmware, but it needs to be plugged in and connected to an Apple device for a firmware update to initiate. You can check your MagSafe Charger’s firmware by following the instructions in our MagSafe Charger how to.
