EA and DICE have announced all remaining details about the second season of Battlefield 2042. Dubbed Master of Arms, the new season arrives Tuesday, August 30 on all platforms.
If you’ve been keeping with the goings-on in Battlefield 2042, you won’t be surprised to learn that Season 2 is bringing a similar amount of new content to the game as we’d seen with Season 1. Like Zero Hour, Master of Arms adds one new map, a new Specialist, three new weapons, and two vehicles.
Taking it from the top, the new map is called Stranded, and it takes place in Panama in a drained lake. Similar to last season, the map also emphasises close-quarter combat. Objectives are tightly spread in the deserty environment, but there’s an even more CQC-oriented area in the inside of a beached tanker.
August 23, 2022 With Sony announcing the PSVR 2 for a 2023 release, we’re once again reminding you just how much we want it to be compatible with our gaming PC.
Sony has revealed that we’ll need to wait until next year for its upcoming PlayStation VR 2 headset and motion controllers. While it’s undoubtedly shaping up to be a substantial improvement over its predecessor in terms of specs, it could be even better if it works on PC too. Thanks to USB Type-C connectivity, Sony may be able to make the device compatible with gaming PCs, and it should.
The PlayStation VR 2 promises some technical advantages over even the best VR headset, like the Valve Index. It boasts 4K HDR OLED panels with a 2000×2040 resolution per eye, with supported refresh rates of 90/120Hz. These kinds of specs understandably require a lot of graphical horsepower, but if Sony were to make the device compatible with PCs, upscaling technologies like Radeon Super Resolution or Nvidia DLSS could help boost performance.
In addition to ditching the proprietary breakout box for a more universally supported USB Type-C connection, the PlayStation VR2 doesn’t require any external tracking apparatus thanks to the inside-out tracking facilitated by cameras built into the headset itself. While this isn’t quite as freeing as a wireless headset like the Oculus Quest 2, it’s clean and simple enough to make the prospect of jumping into VR far less space and time consuming.

The iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1 updates can be downloaded for free and the software is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
According to Apple’s release notes, the updates include bug fixes and security improvements. iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1 address kernel and WebKit vulnerabilities that could lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple says that it is aware that these vulnerabilities may have been actively exploited in the wild, so it is important to update right away.
These may be some of the final updates to the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems as Apple is now focusing on the iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 updates that are set to launch this fall.

Netflix has released a set of photos from its upcoming series The Midnight Club, based on the 1994 novel of the same name by Christopher Pike. Netflix’s adaptation is scheduled to premiere on October 7.
A synopsis is as follows: “At a hospice with a mysterious history, the eight members of the Midnight Club meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories–and to look for signs of the supernatural from the beyond.” Based on these new photos, and a previously released trailer from earlier this summer, the show is likely set in the 1980s–so will be perfect for Stranger Things fans who are still in withdrawal after the long wait and quick binging of Season 4.
Featuring a younger cast than we’re used to from co-creator Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor), the series stars Igby Rigney (Blue Bloods), William Chris Sumpter (Power), Aya Furukawa (The Cabin in the Woods), Adia (Danger Love Story), Annarah Cymone (Caged), Sauriyan Sapkota (Grey’s Anatomy), Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), Samantha Sloyan (The Haunting of Hill House), and Matt Biedel (Narcos: Mexico). Heather Langenkamp, who starred in the original Nightmare on Elm Street, will play the “enigmatic doctor” who runs the home.
