GTA-inspired battle royale Gene Shift Auto is going free-to-play next week
Gene Shift Auto began life as a Geneshift, a topdown, Grand Theft Auto-inspired multiplayer game which dropped into Steam Early Access in 2017. It added a battle royale mode the year after, when we were all drunk on Plunkbat. Now it’s changed name and it’s going free-to-play on November 28th.
Rocket League’s Octane May Be Coming To Fortnite Battle Royale This Week
Rocket League‘s Octane landed in Fortnite in early October, as part of a collaboration between two games both owned by Epic. The vehicle is currently only available in Fortnite’s creative mode, but tweets made by both Fortnite and Rocket League suggest that the Octane might be appearing in battle royale this week.
A video posted to both Fortnite and Rocket League’s Twitter accounts show a vehicle from a Rocket League match disappearing into a rift, a visual that’s been used in the past to promote Fortnite’s numerous crossovers.

Rocket Bot Royale is the perfect game to play while queuing for other games
I’ve been playing an awful lot of Overwatch 2 recently. As you’ll know if you’ve played either of Blizzard’s near-identical hero shooters, Overwatch 2 lets you queue up for a match as a particular hero role, which ensures balanced team compositions but also can mean a wait of several minutes before you get into a match. Cue me scouring my Steam Library a few days ago for a quick little time-waster to fill those gaps. And after a few failed attempts, I discovered it. Or, more accurately, rediscovered it.
Fortnite’s Polo Ralph Lauren Crossover Brings Racing Chic To Battle Royale
Fortnite is perhaps best known for its characters that include bipedal bananas, sentient trees, and, of course, Jonesy himself, but Epic’s battle royale and all-around social experiment is adding another fashion label to the game with the Polo Ralph Lauren crossover. Beginning Saturday, November 5, you can find a number of new character skins and other accessories celebrating the iconic racing-inspired clothing line.
Two new characters, Stadium Hero ’92 and Polo Prodigy, will debut as part of the Polo Stadium Collection Set, and each can be completed with available accessories such as gliders, back bling, and more. Here’s everything new coming to the Fortnite Item Shop this weekend:
- Stadium Hero ’92 skin (with three alternate styles)
- Polo Prodigy skin (with one alternate style)
- Racerback back bling
- Stadium Collector pickaxe
- Stadium Drifter glider
- P-Wing Pack back bling
- 1992 Mallet pickaxe
- Victory Colors emote
- Back Into The Arena loading screen
Prices have not yet been revealed, though some lucky few can earn both skins and their related back bling items not just a day early on November 4, but entirely for free, too. To unlock the skins for free, players must qualify in the Polo Stadium Cup, a Zero Build tournament played in solo queues this Friday. It will be accessible via the game’s Competitive menu.
Hotly-anticipated battle royale, SUPER PEOPLE, finally launches into Early Access
After SUPER PEOPLE’s beta testing phase attracted well over 4 million people, the game is finally heading to release in Early Access, and it’s bringing in a new character class, some free skins, and a tournament with huge prizes to boot.
South Korean developer Wonder People is celebrating the arrival on what may be the next big battle royale hit with a series of events in Early Access that will give early adopters of the game a suite of special rewards inspired by some of the world’s biggest streamers. The game has also recieved a graphical update (meaning it’s now the first publicly available DLSS 3 game!) leveraging NVIDIA Reflex to deliver some killer graphics.
If you’ve played the game before now, you’ll be pleased to note a new class came to the game with the Early Access update: The Demolisher. The Demolisher is a powerful soldier with abilities that include a grenade-firing shoulder launcher and an explosive RC car that can sneak up on enemies.
