Tennis superstar Serena Williams makes shock pregnancy announcement at the Met Gala
Serena Williams makes shock pregnancy announcement at Met Gala and debuts baby bump in pics with husband Alexis Ohanian
TENNIS legend Serena Williams has announced that she is expecting her second child.
The 41-year-old recently retired former world number one subtly revealed the news on Instagram.
In a series of shots in her stunning Met Gala outfit, Williams could be seen with a distinct baby bump which she cradled in one of the snaps.
She captioned the images: “Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.”
Williams’ Instagram has been flooded with congratulatory messages since announcing the news on Monday evening.
These include follow former tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, singer Ciara, actresses Tabitha Brown and Storm Reid, and former Olympian Lindsey Vonn.
Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian welcomed their first child, five-year-old Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., in 2017.
The couple has been together since late 2015, eventually tying the knot in 2017.
A 23-time singles Grand Slam Champion and fourteen-time doubles Grand Slam Champion, Williams retired from the sport in September 2022 following her exit from the U.S. Open.
And during a recent appearance on “Person to Person” with Norah O’Donnell, she admitted that she was “definitely” missing tennis.
Williams said: “It doesn’t feel like it been that long.
“But yeah, I miss playing, I’ve been doing it my entire life. So I think it will be something I will forever, always miss.”
She may miss playing, but Williams still has a busy schedule.
The soon-to-be mother of two is also a successful businesswoman, working as the CEO of venture capital firm Serena Ventures, and the owner of fashion brand S By Serena.

Sam Allardyce set for shock Premier League return as he’s ‘in the frame to replace Javi Gracia at Leeds’
SAM Allardyce is a shock candidate to take over at Leeds if the relegation strugglers sack Javi Gracia.
The club, outside of the drop zone only on goal difference, held crisis talks yesterday over the future of Javi Gracia.

Sunday’s 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth was greeted by a furious fan backlash and means the Spaniard has won just three of his 11 matches since replacing Jesse Marsch.
And it’s led the club to consider relegation specialist Allardyce, 68, who has been out of management for two years after last working at West Brom.
The Athletic report that the former England manager is being ‘strongly considered’ for the job to try to keep Leeds in the top flight.
The former England boss has worked for several Premier League clubs over an illustrious career, including Bolton and West Ham, and has a reputation for swooping in to save clubs from the drop.
Although his last rescue attempt, when he arrived at West Brom midway through the 2020-21 season saw the club relegated to the Championship.
With the Whites in the relegation mire, ex-midfielder Lee Bowyer also emerged as a shock candidate to become their third manager this season.
Below, Sun Sport takes a look at where it’s gone wrong at Elland Road:
BOARDROOM
Owner Andrea Radrizzani has barely got a thing right since shooting Bambi — and that includes his pre- season prediction that another relegation scrap would be “impossible”.
If you are going to sack God-like Marcelo Bielsa, you had better have a good plan in place. But it has been a disaster, with American Jesse Marsch hired and fired before Javi Gracia was brought in.
Supporters are raging at the torching of Bielsa’s legacy.
FAN CONNECTION
The players were made to pick up litter under Bielsa to show appreciation to supporters.
Now the majority cannot even be bothered to acknowledge kids trying to catch a glimpse of their heroes.
Heads down, earphones on and hiding behind their phones, most went out of their way to ignore fans when leaving the team hotel before the 4-1 rout. The connection has gone.
RECRUITMENT
Director of football Victor Orta has wasted the Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha money.
They have spent £135million this season and it is hard to make a case for a success story, other than the injured Tyler Adams.
Crocked winger Luis Sinisterra is inconsistent, while Max Wober and Willy Gnonto have shown flashes. But a record £35m deal on unproven kid Georginio Rutter in January when desperate for goals . . . really?
Marc Roca and Weston McKennie are a terrible midfield pairing and then you have got Red Bull flops Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.
Not one of them had any Prem experience — and it shows.
JAVI GRACIA
It is hardly a shock it has not worked out for the manager nobody really wanted.
Leeds butchered the search for a new boss after sacking Marsch in February, eventually landing on fifth-choice Gracia.
The Spaniard started well but has been a rabbit in headlights since the walls started caving in.
Leeds have let in a league-high 28 goals in 11 games since he took over, while tactics and selections have baffled.
ILLAN MESLIER
The young keeper looks shot and has to be dropped if Leeds are to stand any chance of staying up.
Meslier, 23, was woeful again on Sunday, adding another two howlers to his rapidly growing reel. He is in alarming decline and worse than when he started.
Shock! UK blocks Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard acquisition
The UK Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) has opted to prohibit the Activision Blizzard King x Microsoft merger, as announced in its final report released today.
While the organisation found that the emrger would not have a substantial lessening of competition among console services, it did conclude that it may result in a lessening of competition in the cloud gaming space. This appears to have been the silver bullet to the approval process, and the main reason why the CMA has opted to prohibit the deal.
The final statement states: “In relation to cloud gaming services, we found that Microsoft already has a strong position. It owns a popular gaming platform (Xbox and a large portfolio of games), the leading PC operating system (Windows), and a global cloud computing infrastructure (Azure and Xbox Cloud Gaming), giving it important advantages in running a cloud gaming service. With an estimated 60-70% market share in global cloud gaming services, it is already much stronger than its rivals.”

Shane McMahon suffers shock injury at WrestleMania return in unbelievable botch that Snoop Dogg tries to save
SHANE McMAHON suffered a shock botch during his surprise return at WrestleMania 39.
Shane entered the ring as The Miz’s unexpected opponent at the SoFi Stadium in Hollywood.
The American climbed the ring after Miz’s WrestleMania co-host and superstar rapper Snoop Dogg put him into another impromptu match.
The two grapplers reignited their rivalry from WrestleMania 35 but the bout came to a sudden halt after WWE owner Vince McMahon’s son botched a leap.
The 53-year-old landed awkwardly and seemed to have popped his knee, which then led him to fall on the canvas.
The situation got very awkward as the cameras concentrated on The Miz, who acted like everything was going as expected while medical staff attended to his opponent off camera.
However, Snoop Dogg tried to come to the rescue and knocked Miz out with a punch.
The singer then delivered another blow as he accused the two-time world champion of injuring Shane.
The WWE Hall of Famer hit Miz with his version of the People’s Elbow, which is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson‘s finisher, before pinning him even though he wasn’t even part of the match.
The injury was real as the former European Champion was helped to the back as he favoured his right leg.

This comes only a year after Shane was criticised for the “chaotic” way he planned the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
Vince then decided his son would never be in charge of WWE as long as he is running the company.
In fact, reports suggested The Chairman declared Shane “would never get another pop in WWE”.
The former SmackDown Commissioner was then quietly let go from the company by his own father shortly before WrestleMania 38.
John Cena hints he is NOT retiring after SHOCK WrestleMania loss to Austin Theory with emotional gesture off camera
WWE legend John Cena hinted he has more matches left in him despite his heartbreaking loss to Austin Thoery at WrestleMania 39.
US Champion Theory stole a win over Cena, 45, to retain his title at the SoFi Stadium in Hollywood, much to the live crowd’s displeasure.
This comes after the popular professional wrestler made an emotional entrance to the ring surrounded by children from the Make a Wish foundation.
The referee went down after bumping with the titleholder, who was hoisted over the challenger’s shoulders as he was looking for Attitude Adjustment.
The 16-time world champion the locked the STF on Theory, who tapped out but there was no referee to call for the bell.
Cena thought he won and that was when his opponent hit him with a Low Blow.
Theory then delivered a thunderous A-Town Down to pick up the biggest win of his career.
Cena was left alone in the ring as the US Champion went backstage to celebrate.
The ex-WWE Champion got back up to his feet and waved to the crowd, who gave him a loud ovation.
That shows The Champ is not planning to retire as he wouldn’t leave forever without a big speech or a clear message saying he is done with wrestling.

However, The Face that Runs the Place won’t be back for a while as he is a part-time wrestler due to his busy Hollywood schedule as he is picking some major acting gigs.
The American grappler’s likeliest return date is SummerSlam on August 5 at Ford Field in Detroit Michigan.
Due to his new film career, the heavyweight can only appear in WWE’s biggest pay-per-view shows.
Theory is now expected to get a major push after his stunning victory over Cena.
