No Man’s Sky 4.0 update expands your inventory, and introduces ‘relaxed mode’
For a game that got off to a rather rocky start, No Man’s Sky continues to reach new galactic heights, and it’s 4.0 update is just around the corner.
Hello Games has, seemingly, worked tirelessly to build No Man’s Sky from the ground up and turn it into what is, perhaps, one of the best space exploration and survival games out there. The game, ever since its initial release in 2016, continues to be privy to updates and improvements that’ll benefit long-time fans and newcomers.
The 4.0 update is intended to coincide with the debut of No Man’s Sky on Nintendo Switch, planned for October 7, but what does the update actually include? Well, via an interview with PC Gamer, Hello Games’ Sean Murray tells all.
No Man’s Sky 4.0 update: why Sean Murray feels your passion
In the six years since No Man’s Sky first launched, the ambitious space game‘s name has morphed from a synonym for hubris to the go-to example of redemption through hard work and dedication. In 2022, ‘pulling a No Man’s Sky’ means saving a troubled game after a botched launch. No Man’s Sky update 4.0 rolls out on October 7, and creator Sean Murray tells us that while there’s not much in the way of spectacle in this patch, it’s full of quality-of-life improvements that continue to make the spacefaring RPG more fun and easier to play – whether you’re a newcomer or an experienced space pioneer.

Dark Sky Removed From iOS App Store Ahead of Upcoming Shutdown
Apple acquired Dark Sky back in March 2020 and has since incorporated elements of the app into the Weather app available on the iPhone (and soon, the iPad).
Dark Sky remained available for purchase as a standalone weather app after the acquisition, but the app’s developers earlier this year said that the Dark Sky iOS app would no longer be available after December 31, 2022.
The Dark Sky blog suggested that when the app became unavailable at the end of 2022, already purchased versions would cease providing weather data, but as of now the app still works. It is not entirely clear if the removal of Dark Sky is actually some kind of glitch or if Apple has simply pulled it early.
While the Dark Sky app is officially shutting down at the end of December, the Dark Sky API and website will function until March 21, 2023. Developers who use the Dark Sky API can transition over to Apple’s WeatherKit API.
