Half-Life 2 still has a perfect opening, and we can prove it

It’s redundant now to declare Half-Life 2 one of the best PC games of all time. It’s like saying, “The Godfather; good movie, right?” Two decades on from Half-Life 2‘s initial release, this remains as true as it ever was.
Replay it in 2023 – the year in which the FPS game itself is set – and you’ll be treated to countless iconic, hair-raising moments and set pieces each underlined by the stunning technical achievement of Source engine, freshly unveiled alongside Half-Life 2. Beyond the groundbreaking advancements, visuals, and gameplay is the story, itself expertly crafted as if created by some master of dystopian science fiction.
Amid all this, it’s all too easy to forget that Half-Life 2’s opening chapter, Point Insertion, was – and is still – perfect. And you don’t just need to take our word for it: we have the evidence.

Stardew-like meets murder mystery Grave Seasons has some supernatural secrets still to come

Last month Rachel made us aware of a life sim called Grave Seasons, a kind of mash up of perennial favourite Stardew Valley and, er, the half-season serial killer arc of a police procedural TV show. Naturally this turned my head, like Tarantino walking past a ladies shoe store, and I emailed the developers Perfect Garbage to find out a bit more. They describe the game as “fun, campy and spooky” and hint at yet more secrets to be revealed. Appropriate for a game where, every time you start a new run, one of the townsfolk starts killing everyone else.

Vicki, a 62-year-old content creator, received comments from people who thought she was much younger[/caption]
Vicki (@wickivicki), a Colorado-based influencer, shared the video with over 90,000 TikTok followers.
The viral video, which has accumulated over 150,000 likes and 10,000 comments, showed off her flexibility as she stretched and performed splits in a workout outfit.
“I can still do my splits at 60 years old,” she said in the older video.
She lifted her legs up to her head in preparation for the act, then easily slid down into a full split: “Yea baby!” she said.
In another older video, she shared her feelings about the energy she had: “61 years young,” she said. “Do you know how weird it is… I have more energy than most 30-year-olds,” she said, adding the hashtags #over60 and #aginggracefully.
People took to the comments to share their thoughts.
“Lmao, I’m 57 and catch myself calling others around me old.. I just don’t feel it AT ALL. BTW, you’re WOW,” said one commenter.
“You are so beautiful,” said another.
“You don’t actually look your age you are absolutely beautiful,” said a third.
Others were shocked at her age: “‘Im impressed, however, I am not willing to believe you are 60 ??? I’m guessing more mid 40’s ……” said one.
“Sorry to tell you,you don’t look 60, in fact you look much much younger,” agreed another.
“60?? I would of guessed around 42 45 but 60 wow,” said a third.

Tim Cook Says Apple Still Not Considering ‘Mass Layoffs’
“I view that as a last resort and, so, mass layoffs is not something that we’re talking about at this moment,” said Cook, in an interview with CNBC.
Major tech companies like Google and Facebook parent Meta have laid off tens of thousands of employees in recent months amid economic uncertainty, after aggressively hiring during the COVID-19 pandemic. Apple has not made any mass layoffs of full-time employees, but the company has reportedly laid off some corporate employees within its retail teams, let go of some contracted recruiters, and stopped hiring for some roles.
In a regulatory filing last year, Apple said it had approximately 164,000 full-time equivalent employees as of September 24, 2022.
