Atrioc says deepfakes are ‘a much bigger problem than I was aware of’
She has dubbed herself the ‘throat lord’
Call of Duty streamer SteffyEvans often hears misogynistic jokes telling her to “get back in the kitchen” or “make me a sandwich.” Instead of ignoring them, she decided to take it as a challenge, rushing to the kitchen each time to speedrun making a sandwich each time someone told her to–and getting back in time to still win the game.
The stream was recapped in a video on TikTok, showing another player telling her to “go make me a sandwich” almost as soon as she had loaded into a game. While the initial sandwich-making cost her team the round, she came back in the next one, and even won a future round after ducking off to make another two sandwiches.
Speaking to Kotaku, she explained that the sandwich-making challenge often cost her a round or two, but more often the comments were made after she had won. She also explained that she not just made the sandwiches, but packed them in bags with a side of chips and bottles of water so the full meals could be later donated to the homeless.
Uk-based streamer Perri has recently discovered a new to play Elden Ring. While other streamers, such as MissMikkaa, have played the game with a dance pad, Perri is playing it with their mind.
In a series of videos uploaded to their TikTok and Instagram accounts, you can see how they play using a headset that looks similar to what Professor Xavier would wear in the X-Men. The headset they’re wearing is called an Electroencephalogram (EEG). It uses a sensor pad soaked in saline solution to create conductivity on their head that detects electrical activity.
In one TikTok video, you can see them cast a series of spells on a couple of NPCs to kill them while backing up to avoid damage and switch weapons. While in another video, you can see them standing far away from their set-up, proving that they’re only playing with their mind.
Watching people play FromSoftware games with novel input set ups is one of my favourite genres of internet shenanigan, so it’s a treat to see streamer MissMikkaa simultaneously beat Elden Ring with both a dance mat and a controller. That’s two instances of Elden Ring at once, to be clear, with Mikaa slaying the final boss on a PS5 with a controller mere moments before killing his counterpart on a PC hooked up to a dance mat. Two old rings, coming right up.
