The 1TB Samsung T7 portable SSD drops to a record low of $80
You can never have too much digital storage space, so it’s always a smart move to pick up the best SSDs whenever they’re on sale and you have the cash to spare. The Samsung T7 is our current pick for the best portable SSD around, and the 1TB variant has dropped to its lowest price to date. You can pick it up now from Amazon for $80. It typically retails for $140.
The T7 has fairly fast sequential read speeds of up to 1,050MB/s. It’s available in three colors: blue, black and red. If you have a little more flexibility, you might be interested in picking up a 2TB version of the T7 instead. It’s up to 50 percent off, depending on the color. The red variant has dropped to $135.
If you’re in the market for a microSD card but don’t necessarily need a ton of storage for your particular device, it’s worth considering the Samsung’s 128GB EVO Select card. That has also dropped to a record low of just $12.49. It usually costs $20. Bear in mind that you won’t need a faster card than this for your Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck — those devices only support read speeds of up to 104MB/s.
Meanwhile, several other Samsung storage options went on sale last month and most of those deals are still live. The T7 Shield, a more rugged version of the T7, is $90 for the 1TB version (2TB and 4TB versions are on sale too). As for the 980 Pro with a built-in heatsink, which is one of the best PS5 SSDs on the market, that’s available for $120 for 1TB of storage — almost half off the usual price.

Pick up this 2TB Samsung T7 Shield portable SSD for £148 after a £40 discount
Samsung’s 2TB Shield T7 portable, armoured SSD has dropped to £148 on Amazon. That’s a solid £40 off, but Samsung are also offering cashback for the same amount, dropping the price to £108 after all is said and done. That’s an awesome price for a high-speed external SSD capable of read speeds of 1050MB/s and write speeds of 1000MB/s – and one that ranks among the fastest portable SSDs we’ve ever tested.
Samsung Releases 4TB T7 Shield Portable SSD
The T7 Shield is Samsung’s most damage-resistant SSD, offering a durable casing that protects the device both indoors and outdoors. The Shield’s enclosure is made from aluminum and has an IP65 water and dust resistance rating, so it can hold up to rain and other elements. It also offers crush resistance and protection from drops over nine feet high.
There is a rubberized exterior casing around the aluminum that adds further protection, and because of the small size, it is portable and ideal for use when traveling. The 4TB model is available in black.
The T7 Shield offers read speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s, and write speeds of up to 1,000 MB/s. It connects to a Mac using a USB-C to USB-C cable, and has a built-in thermal guard to protect from degradation due to overheating.
The 4TB T7 Shield Portable SSD can be purchased from the Samsung website for $430. Samsung also sells a 2TB variant for $180, and a 1TB model for $100.

Samsung’s 1TB T7 Touch SSD is cheaper than ever right now
If you’re in the market for external storage, Amazon has discounted a handful of Samsung SSD products. Starting with the T7 Touch, the 1TB model in black is currently $125, down from its usual $160. With the $35 price cut, the T7 Touch is currently at the lowest price it has ever hit on Amazon. While there are faster external SSDs out on the market, Samsung’s portable drive hits the sweet spot between performance, features and affordability. Connected to a USB 3.2 Gen 2-compatible port, it offers sequential write speeds of up to 1,000MB/s. It’s also one of the more secure drives you can buy thanks to the inclusion of AES 256-bit encryption and a built-in fingerprint sensor. Another nice thing about the T7 Touch is that it ships with both USB-C and USB-A cables.

The T7 Touch is sturdy, but if you’re worried about how it will hold up on trips and your daily commute, Samsung also offers a ruggedized version. The T7 Shield is just as fast as its Touch counterpart, but it also comes with an elastomer layer that Samsung claims will protect the drive from 9.8-foot drops. It’s also IP65-certified against water and dust. At the moment, you can buy the 1TB model for $110, down from $160. That’s close to the lowest price we’ve seen on the T7 Shield. Amazon has also put the 2TB model on sale. After a 31 percent discount, it’s $200. You can buy the T7 Shield in three colors – blue, black or beige – and all three colorways are included in Amazon’s promotion.
Buy Samsung Evo Select MicroSD at Amazon – $47
Lastly, if all you need is a microSD card for your Nintendo Switch, action camera or Android phone, you’re in luck. Included in the sale are Samsung’s Evo Select microSD cards. The 512GB model is currently $47 after a 45 percent discount. You can also get the 256GB model for 50 percent off, making it $20 at the moment and just a few dollars more than the 128GB variant. I haven’t personally used an Evo Select memory card, but Samsung’s microSD has about all the features you would want in a mid-range memory card. It features a UHS-1 interface with Class 10-rated transfer speeds, meaning it can move data at up to 130MB/s.
