Quentin Tarantino Is Reportedly Preparing To Direct His Final Film
Quentin Tarantino has always been upfront about his retirement plans, saying that he wants to retire after making 10 films, or at the age of 60. With both milestones fast approaching, a THR report claims that Tarantino is working on the script for The Movie Critic, his 10th and final film.
According to sources quoted by THR, The Movie Critic will be set in 1970s Los Angeles and will feature a female lead. Some have speculated that the film could focus on famous film critic Pauline Kael, who was known for her sharp and witty reviews that often went against mainstream opinion. The project isn’t yet attached to a studio, but could start looking for a home as early as this week.
Since his debut with Pulp Fiction in 1994, Tarantino has made nine films, if you count Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2 as a single film. His films have netted him both critical acclaim and controversy, with Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained both earning him Academy Awards for Best Screenplay.

Marvel Characters, Not Actors, Are The Stars, Tarantino Says
While on a press tour for his latest book Cinema Speculation, director Quentin Tarantino said that while he isn’t a Marvel hater, he isn’t exactly the company’s biggest fan. Speaking on the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast, Tarantino decried the “Marvel-ization of Hollywood.”
“Part of the Marvel-ization of Hollywood is… you have all these actors who have become famous playing these characters,” Tarantino said (via Variety), “But they’re not movie stars. Right? Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star. I mean, I’m not the first person to say that. I think that’s been said a zillion times…but it’s like, you know, it’s these franchise characters that become a star.”
“I’m not even putting them down, frankly, to tell you the truth,” the director said. Tarantino added that he does not “hate” Marvel movies, but instead feels they are dominating Hollywood. “My only axe to grind against them is they’re the only things that seem to be made… They’re the only things that seem to generate any kind of excitement amongst a fan base or even for the studio making them. That’s what they’re excited about. And so it’s just the fact that they are the entire representation of this era of movies right now. There’s not really much room for anything else. That’s my problem.”
Yakuza Creator Wants Next Game to be Like a Quentin Tarantino Film
Yakuza creator wants his next game to “be like a Tarantino film”
In a recent interview, Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi said that his next game at his new studio will be “like a Quentin Tarantino film.”
Nagoshi recently spoke to German publication 4Players (translations by VGC), where he provided some light details about his next game, a new IP from Nagoshi Studio at NetEase. While he wasn’t able to provide any concrete details, he did talk about how he doesn’t want to move too far away from his roots.
“Of course, I can’t reveal too much about our game yet, but I can give a rough idea: It will definitely contain violence as a game element, but I don’t want to go too much in the direction of thriller or even horror,” Nagoshi said.
