TellTale’s The Wolf Among Us 2 delayed out of 2023 to avoid crunch
I was a big fan of classic TellTale, the studio that put out episodic adventure games on a conveyor belt. I’m not the new one in sheep’s clothing, because they haven’t released anything yet. Like many, I was especially drawn to The Wolf Among Us, a neo-noir murder mystery set in the same universe as the Fables graphic novels. It would have been quite poetic to return to the series ten years after its debut, but that’s not going to be paw-sibble, as new TellTale have announced that The Wolf Among Us 2 has been delayed out of 2023. There’s no new release window, but maybe it’ll be ready in 2024. Hopefully.
The final part of Telltale’s Sam & Max trilogy is getting a remaster
Comedy cops Sam & Max are back again in 2023, thanks to a remaster of the final instalment of Telltale’s trilogy of point and click adventures. Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered hails from Skunkape Games, who describe themselves as “owners and caretakers” of the Sam & Max games that Telltale developed. Skunkape are made up of some former Telltale devs, so there’s a nice bit of continuity there. You can watch a teaser for the remaster below.
Skybound’s Clementine comic undoes the hopeful ending of Telltale’s The Walking Dead, but in a thoughtful way
A conversation in the RPS Treehouse the other day reminded me that there is only one game I have ever completed for the first time and then finished again, all within the span of a week. That game was The Walking Dead: The Final Season.
Having played all three previous seasons of Telltale’s choose-your-own-zombie-apocalypse tearjerker (plus the 400 Days DLC and the Michonne spin-off), it’s no surprise that I was incredibly invested in Clementine’s story by The Final Season. I’m not a big kid person, typically, but you’d have to be beyond heartless not to love little Clem, wouldn’t you? Even though, by the time TFS rolls around, she’s grown into medium-sized Clem, and is a bit bloody scary to boot.
