Asus and MSI are feuding again, and this time we all benefit
Asus has just extended its OLED gaming monitor warranty to now cover burn-in problems for a period of three years, having introduced cover that lasts two years just just a few days ago. That’s seemingly because in the intervening time MSI said its own warranties would offer the longer three-year period, and Asus wasn’t to be out done.
Asus and MSI have been rivals for many years, with the two firms constantly in battle to produce the best motherboards, best graphics cards, best gaming laptops, and even best gaming handhelds from their respective Taipei-based headquarters. While that battle has sometimes left consumers worse off – such as with the recent rival cable-free motherboard standards of Asus BTF and MSI Project Zero – the latest development is one that should benefit us all.

‘Silly little’ car mod which makes you FAIL your MOT, mechanic reveals… it’s the ‘stupidest way’ to waste time & money
A MECHANIC has revealed a “silly little” car mod which could see you fail your MOT.
Drivers are often at risk of being caught out by breaking the smallest of rules, and this one could cost you hundreds.

For many motorists, failures usually involve problems with the motor‘s suspensions, brakes or tyres – but there is something else that could cause issues.
One motors expert has branded an accessory the “stupidest way” to waste time and money on your car by failing.
Posting on the Eurofit Autocentres TikTok account, the mechanic was responding to a question from a customer.
He said: “The stupidest way is when you have things hanging from your rear view mirror.
“Some people have a lot hanging from there and as you’re turning it can sway into your vision.”
The mechanic added that “silly little things” like this could see you fail your MOT.
Despite being harsh, it goes without saying you should remove the accessories to avoid the embarrassment.
As always, TikTokers were quick to comment on the video and weigh in with their opinions.
One wrote: “Mine failed it because of that.”
A second said: “Why can’t they just remove it in the test and pass it, seems very stupid to fail it for something like that.”
Another TikToker agreed, saying: “Surely you’d just take them off for the person if the car was gonna fail.”
While a fourth commented: “Thought you’d say that! Mine failed because of that.”
Another recounted: “My car failed on the air freshener, the tester then moved it and passed it straight after.”
It comes after another MOT mechanic revealed a tell-tale sign of “dangerous” tyre damage, urging drivers to check their rubber.
Craig, from West Midlands-based Walsall Wood Tyre and Service, used TikTok to warn motorists that they could be at risk without even realising.
And an expert mechanic has warned drivers over a deadly duo of winter motor mistakes that could cost them hundreds and leave them stranded in the cold.
Meanwhile, a homeowner shared his parking space side hustle that nets him over £6,000 a year.

The Three-Body Problem is getting a new audiobook release just in time for Netflix’s show
In Netflix’s new adaptation of Cixin Liu’s novel The Three-Body Problem, actress Rosalind Chao portrays one of the brilliant minds mobilized into action by the presence of a threat with the potential to wipe out humanity. But in Macmillan’s forthcoming The Three-Body Problem audiobook recording, Chao will bring the entire world of Liu’s novel to life with the sound of her voice.
Ahead of the March 21st debut of Netflix’s 3 Body Problem, Macmillan Audio has tapped Chao to narrate its new recording of The Three-Body Problem — the first book in Liu’s Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy chronicling the story of how humanity responds after making first contact with aliens.
