Become a traffic dork in All Quiet Roads
Having recently complained about managing traffic in building games, it is only natural and right that I now praise one that is entirely about managing traffic.
I’ve had an eye on All Quiet Roads for months, but between Tile Cities and Blink Planets it seemed a bit much to throw this recommendation at you as well. But a game exclusively about the thing I hate most holding my interest this well has to be respected. All Quiet Roads also balances relaxing, freeform play with stressful, occasionally overwhelming challenges, giving it a tonal variety that I wasn’t really expecting from such a simple concept.

This Cyberpunk 2077 mod adds Truck Simulator-style traffic fines
A new innovation has arrived in Night City: car insurance! A new Cyberpunk 2077 mod adds fines for traffic collisions, a bit like the penalties you see in truck games like American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. With the Drive Carefully! mod installed, you’ll be fined for hitting other vehicles – and the fines go up for more severe accidents.

Possible ‘Glimmer Man’ Causes Traffic Mishap in Kansas
A Kansas witness observes a car swerve off the road below his balcony. The car was attempting to avoid an impact with a possible ‘Glimmer Man’ on the road. The anomaly remained for a while after.
The following account is transcribed and edited:
“This is a description of the being I saw in Burlington, Kansas that looked like a cloaked ‘Predator’ from the film series. I had a bird’s eye view from an apartment balcony overlooking a smooth bend to the left in the road that passes by the river dam in town. The car made the slight jog to the left easily but swerved abruptly to the right like he was trying to avoid hitting something in the road to the left. He went into the ditch and got out very cautiously and seemed to be looking in the direction of what I first thought was a giant swarm of gnats or maybe dust off to the left of the road, just inches in the grass about 25 feet from his car. He then got out his phone and proceeded to take a couple of photos of this thing. He definitely looked freaked out and ran back into his car, which I assumed to call a friend.
A truck showed up about five minutes later to pull him out. This mass was still standing upright and seemed to be looking at all that was going on but stayed motionless. It seemed to be facing the opposite way from my vantage point towards the car and truck, although you couldn’t see the actual detail of this thing. You could definitely see it had an upright human stance. The car headlights didn’t pass all the way through it but almost bent around it. The light was still passing through it but not in a straight line. I could see through it like foggy glass or glass with a slight smoke to it. There was no shadow visible on the ground around the figure.
After the car and truck sped away, it simply vanished.
If these things can’t alter their reality like I believe they can, they can make themselves completely see-through or shimmer while fading in and out of our realm because they share some DNA with angels. This is just my theory on that but I do believe they can definitely move in and out of our reality. For example, Philip in the Bible was done baptizing the Ethiopian eunuch and after the eunuch came up out of the water Philip was gone. Philip instantly found himself in another city. I believe this is just one example of either teleportation or opening a portal and going through it for instant travel. Either way, it is interesting and can connect a few dots with what I’ve been studying. I hope this helps someone.” LS

Anonymous claims responsibility for Moscow traffic jam tied to app exploit
On Thursday morning, Moscow’s busy Fili district became the site of a traffic jam unlike any before it. Motherboard (via The Verge) reports hackers used Russia’s Yandex Taxi ride-hailing app to order dozens of drivers to coverage on Kutuzovsky Prospekt, one of the city’s main thoroughfares. The act caused traffic on part of the already congested street to come to a standstill for about 40 minutes while Yandex worked to address the situation.
“On the morning of September 1st, Yandex Taxi encountered an attempt by attackers to disrupt the service — several dozen drivers received bulk orders to the Fili district of Moscow,” a Yandex spokesperson told Motherboard. In a separate statement shared with Russia’s state-owned TASS news agency, Yandex said it reworked its routing algorithm following the attack to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. The event is one of the first known instances of hackers exploiting a ride-hailing app to create a traffic jam.

Several Twitter accounts claiming affiliation with Anonymous say the hacktivist collective is behind the incident. On Friday, one Anonymous account said the group worked with the IT Army of Ukraine, a volunteer organization formed at the start of the war, to carry out the attack.
Anonymous previously claimed responsibility for a cyberattack that took down multiple Russian government websites, including those belonging to the Kremlin and the Ministry of Defence. “Faced with this series of attacks that Ukraine has been suffering from the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, we could not help but support the Ukrainian people,” the group said at the time.
Hackers caused a massive traffic jam in Moscow using a ride-hailing app
Hackers caused a major traffic jam in Moscow after exploiting the Russian ride-hailing app, Yandex Taxi, to summon dozens of taxis to the same location at the same time (via Vice). The attack occurred on September 1st and had traffic heading towards Kutuzovsky Prospect — an already busy boulevard — stuck at a standstill.
A video showing lines of taxis seemingly trying to get to the same destination was shared widely on Twitter and Reddit on Thursday. While Moscow is known for its heavy traffic — it ranked number two as the world’s most congested city in the world last year — this incident wasn’t related to the capital city’s typical traffic patterns.
