Student, 19, shot dead in her own home after turning down marriage proposal from older man
A TEENAGE girl has been shot dead in Egypt after turning down a marriage proposal from an older man.
Amani Abdul-Karim al-Gazzar, 19, a physical education student, was shot in the back outside her family home after she and her family both rejected the proposal.

The killing follows June’s sickening murder of student Naira Ashraf by a crazed stalker[/caption]
Her killer was 29-year-old Ahmed Abou Ameirah, who turned the gun on himself following his sickening attack on Saturday.
He reportedly killed Amani in a fit of anger after she and her family rejected his proposal, before fleeing the scene in the village of Tukh Tanbisha, around 70 miles north of Egypt‘s capital Cairo.
His body was discovered in a road close to the nearby city of Quwaysna, the Egyptian Interior Ministry said.
“Legal measures were taken, and the public prosecution is handling investigations,” it added.

Before taking his own life, Ameirah reportedly shared a sick video of himself goading the police officers hunting for him and revelling in his evil crimes.
In the clip, shared widely on social media, he said: “I am Ahmad Abou Ameirah, you are all searching for me. I am the criminal.”
Taking credit for Amani’s murder, he went on: “I used to breathe her, and I was living for her… I will take your revenge.”
The horrific slaughter comes as Egypt tackles soaring rates of violent crimes targeting women, with several high-profile cases involving women who had rejected men’s advances.

In June, another young student was stabbed to death in public as she stepped off a bus by a crazed stalker.
Naira Ashraf was murdered outside her university in northern Egypt on the way to her final exams after she had turned down several marriage proposals from her killer.
Her throat was slit by a fellow student, in shocking CCTV footage which was shared widely online.
In July, it was announced Naira’s killer, Mohamed Adel, will be executed on live TV.

The latest death has sparked fear among women in Egypt, particularly due to the apparent copycat nature of the attack.
Three days after Naira’s murder, another young female student was murdered outside her campus, this time in Jordan.
According to reports, the woman’s killer sent her a text the day before the murder reading: “Tomorrow I am coming to speak to you and if you don’t accept I am going to kill you just like the Egyptian killed that girl today.”
Last month another Egyptian student was murdered by a “spurned” man.
“Another day, another femicide in Egypt,” one social media post read following Amani’s murder.

Apple Celebrates Shazam Turning 20 With Playlist Featuring Each Year’s Most Shazamed Song
“Featuring everything from Train’s ‘Hey, Soul Sister’ to Sia’s ‘Cheap Thrills,’ the playlist is a true reflection of the music fans across the globe actively searched for over the past two decades,” said Apple. The playlist is available on Apple Music.
Shazam launched in August 2002 as a text message service in the UK and went on to become one of the first apps in the App Store in July 2008.
Apple acquired Shazam in 2018 for a reported $400 million and has since integrated the music identification service into Control Center on the iPhone. Apple has steadily improved Shazam since acquiring the service by removing ads from the app, adding a concert discovery feature, enabling Shazam support in third-party apps, and more.
Shazam now has more than 225 million global monthly users and has surpassed 70 billion song recognitions, according to Apple. Drake is the most Shazamed artist of all time, with over 350 million Shazams across songs he released or was featured in, while “Dance Monkey” by Tones And I is the most Shazamed song ever with over 41 million Shazams.
In a press release, Apple listed some notable moments and milestones over Shazam’s two-decade history, including the first-ever Shazamed song, the fastest tracks to accumulate Shazams, the top Shazamed songs by genre, and more.
Shazam has apps available for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android and Windows devices, and more. In iOS 14.2 and later, Apple includes a Music Recognition toggle for the Control Center, giving iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users a quick and easy way to identify what music is playing via Shazam without having to download the app.

Royal family news – Massive ‘turning point’ in Kate Middleton’s relationship with Princess Charlotte uncovered by expert
A Royals expert has revealed the “turning point” in Kate Middleton’s relationship with her daughter, Princess Charlotte.
This week has seen young Charlotte attend the Commonwealth Games with her parents, the Princess’ first time attending a public event with her family.
According to Royal and body language Judi James, this marks a “turning point” in the mother-daughter relationship.
Judi said: “Kate goes to great lengths here to engage and inform her daughter Charlotte.”
She added that Kate uses “some very expressive gesticulation in what looks like a bid to build her enthusiasm, anticipation and excitement for the sport they are watching.
“But judging from Charlotte’s facial expressions and body language, Kate could soon become redundant in this role and start to just sit back and relax in public, as Charlotte looks the most enthralled member of the entire royal party.
“There’s a point in every parent-child relationship where there is a sense of friendship growing out of the nurturing role.
“This happens when the parent begins to enjoy the communication and shared fun as much as the child, and this looks like that kind of turning point in Kate and Charlotte’s relationship.
“There’s a growing sense of like-minded enjoyment between Kate and her daughter here as well as between Charlotte and her dad William.”
