Rihanna’s baby boy’s unique name finally revealed one year after welcoming son- and fans are shocked by her inspiration
RIHANNA has finally released the name of her new son, and fans are confused by her choice.
Rihanna, 35, and her partner A$AP Rocky, 34, had their first child together almost a year ago on May 13, 2022.

The name was released after a news outlet discovered the baby’s birth certificate[/caption]
The couple has another little one on the way, but until today the name of their first son was unknown.
The Daily Mail reported the name of Rihanna’s child after they obtained his birth certificate.
The almost-one-year-old is named RZA Athelston Mayers.
He’s apparently named after the producer and rapper RZA- who is also the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan.
Up until this information dropped, the boy’s name was presumed to be Noah.
FANS IN SHOCK
Fans rushed to social media after the baby’s name dropped online, and many are shocked and confused about the inspiration behind the name.
One fan on Twitter said, “Not Rihanna naming that baby after a Wu-Tang Clan, I can see why she tried to keep it secret.”
Another was in full denial, “Now I know d**n well Rihanna ain’t name that baby that…”
A third tweeted, “This is the most Caribbean name I’ve seen in a long time. Lmfao.”
“I know Rihanna let A$AP pick that damn name. She really in love,” said another.
MOVING ON
She already has homes in Barbados and Los Angeles, and now Rihanna is eyeing up a new place in Paris.
The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed the pregnant superstar secretly viewed properties in the French capital in April — but opted to do it between 3am and 5am to avoid being spotted.
She was joined by A$AP Rocky for tours around two luxury properties in the 16th Arrondissement, near the Arc de Triomphe, including a spacious home with a garden.
One of the properties is on the market for more than £2.6million, so they certainly aren’t scrimping.
A source said: “Rihanna wants her kids to be able to see the world — and what better way than to have homes all over the place?
“They went under the cover of darkness so they could tour the houses in peace and without a rush.
“It was a bit of an inconvenience for the team showing them around, but given it was for Rihanna, no one was complaining.
“The houses they are viewing are gorgeous but their main concern is really good security and an amazing location.
“They won’t spend their money on any old place, but they would like to get a deal done sooner rather than later so that it’s ready for the next time the family is in town. Rihanna’s due date is fast approaching but she has loved her getaway to France and can’t wait to return.”

Blue Beetle Is A Unique Origin Story Focusing On Family, Says Director
Just like The Fast and the Furious, DC’s Blue Beetle will be about family. Director Angel Manuel Soto and star Xolo Maridueña appeared at a CinemaCon panel to promote the movie, while also hyping up the superhero’s suit.
Soto and Maridueña, who plays the eponymous superhero Jaime Reyes, mentioned the suit is basically a young nerd’s fantasy. This was teased in the first trailer for Blue Beetle, where the suit says, “Whatever you can imagine, I can create.” Reyes then conjures up a gigantic sword that rivals Cloud’s from Final Fantasy VII.
Meanwhile, Soto wanted to instill how important family is to this DC film, the first to star a Latino hero. He mentioned how the Reyes family is there when the scarab chooses Jaime and gives him his superpowers, for instance. Maridueña added that Jaime doesn’t even want his superpowers at first. But through his family, he finds his strength as the hero.

What took centerstage was the reveal of the child’s name front and center in the post.
They shared a screenshot from an Instagram post that contained the name of the baby to a popular Reddit group, NameNerdCirclejerk.
According to the site, the online group is meant to “poke fun at awful names and naming culture.”

A square piece of thick fabric was hung on the wall with the child’s name written on it, Wavy Jack.
“It’s not a nickname,” the Reddit user emphasized in a comment with the post.
People couldn’t believe that was actually the child’s name.
“What is with these wild adjective first names accompanied by super plain middle names? C’mon parents. This just makes your kid sound super dumb,” one reader commented.
“Wavy Jack sounds like a very lame pirate name. Or old prospector from a Western,” a Reddit user added.
“Yum, my favorite kind of cheese,” another joked.
“Wavy Jack sounds like a band name. Or a cocktail,” another added.

Reddit user Nurse Kaila took to social media to share their disinterest in a newborn baby’s name.
They shared a screenshot of a Facebook birth announcement post that contained the name of the newborn to a popular Reddit group.
According to the site, the online group is meant to “poke fun at awful names and naming culture.”
To protect the privacy of both the mother and the baby, large emojis were placed over their faces in the Reddit post.

At the bottom of the screenshot, a comment contained the phonetic spelling of the name: Rev-na-lyn Gee-duh.
The Reddit user simply posted it with a simple “whyyyyyy” written.
People could not help tossing out their two cents about the name in the comment section of the post.
“The best I can tell, both Revna (meaning “raven”) and Gyda (meaning “God’s”) are obscure feminine old Norse names. Why they had to slap a “lynn” on the end is beyond me,” one shared.
“The fact that they had to say how both names are pronounced,” a Reddit user commented.
“She really just threw down some Scrabble tiles and called it a day,” another voiced.
“That’s a clumsy mouthful,” a reader added.

Review: Aqara’s Presence Sensor FP2 Is a Unique, Ultra-Accurate HomeKit Accessory
The sensor uses millimeter wave radar technology to detect human presence in a room with greater precision than traditional passive infrared sensors, allowing for more specific automations and a more reliable experience. Aqara says that FP2 detects even the slightest movement, such as breathing, to ascertain human presence. This level of precision means that users can set up automations to turn on lights and keep them on when someone is in an area, even when there is very minimal motion that more conventional sensors would not be able to sense, for example.
The sensor comes with a two meter USB-A to USB-C power cable, two adhesive magnetic mounting plates, a screw, a wall anchor, and an instruction manual. You need to provide your own USB-A wall adapter to power the device.
Design
The sensor sports an extremely compact design with a rounded body and matte white finish. At the top, there is a pairing button and an ambient light sensor. The design is sufficiently discreet to tuck in the corner of a room or leave on a tabletop.
The base of the sensor swivels out and fully extends, helping you to position it exactly as you wish. The base is magnetic, allowing you to adhere it to one of the included magnetic plates if you plan to install the sensor on a wall or ceiling. Swivelling out the base also reveals the USB-C port required to power the device and a HomeKit pairing code sticker.
The FP2 is IPX5 rated against water and dust, which allows it to be installed in humid environments like bathrooms or even some outdoors areas.
Set Up, Functionality, and HomeKit Support
While the Presence Sensor FP2 requires an Aqara hub, there are multiple options to choose from, such as the M1S or M2 hub. Setting up the FP2 follows the same process as many other Aqara accessories. Simply connect the FP2 to a power source, open the Aqara app, hold down the small button on the accessory, and follow the on-screen instructions.
To take full advantage of the FP2’s features, you need to use the Aqara app. The sensor has separate modes depending on where you plan to position the sensor, each with subsequent options for fine-tuning to your exact needs. Users can set up various detection zones and targets, as well as exclude certain areas from the sensor to prevent movement in these areas triggering automations.
The app allows you to define up to 30 zones within a room, each with their own automations. After setting up these zones in the Aqara app, the configuration can be synced to Apple’s Home app as multiple motion or occupancy sensors, allowing you to use the FP2 natively in a HomeKit setup and create automations. The built-in light sensor is also exposed to HomeKit.
The sensor can detect presence up to eight meters away and pinpoint the exact location of individuals in the room with extraordinary accuracy, as visible in the Aqara app. It can also track up to five people at once, allowing for the control of different zones based on the real-time location of each individual. The detection of presence is impressively instantaneous and noticeably more accurate than simpler motion sensor accessories.
The FP2 also offers some unique features such as fall detection in the Aqara app. Other capabilities, including posture, standing, sitting, and lying detection, are set to be added with an update to the device. The FP2 may even be able to support sleep monitoring and respiratory rate detection in the future via an update, according to Aqara.
Bottom Line and How to Buy
With its range of advanced features, Presence Sensor FP2 is one of the most precise, versatile, and unique smart home sensors available on the market. At $82.99, it is costlier than a simple motion sensor, but it offers far better functionality.
The FP2 can function as up to 30 individual motion sensors in Apple’s Home app with an extremely high level of sensitivity and accuracy, making it easy to recommend over buying a more limited motion sensor. Matter compatibility is set to come to the FP2 Presence Sensor via an over-the-air update, and Aqara has more features planned for the device in the future, making it a good choice for any smart home setup.
The need for constant power via USB-C is virtually the only caveat to the FP2, since many of the less capable motion sensors on the market use battery power, which makes it easy to place them exactly where you want them. The need for wired power means you just have to think a little more carefully about where you plan to use the FP2.
The Presence Sensor FP2 is available from Amazon in North America and Europe, as well as selected Aqara retailers worldwide. Aqara is currently offering a 15% discount on the new device on the Amazon through April 22 with the following discount codes:
- Amazon North America: FP2USCA1 (applicable to Amazon US & Canada)
- Amazon Europe: EU5PSFP2 (applicable to Amazon France, Germany, Italy, Spain & UK)
Note: Aqara provided MacRumors with a FP2 Presence Sensor for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received.

Bastl Instruments teases mini stereo mixer with unique saturation controls
Bastl Instruments is no stranger to quirky takes on musical instruments and now they’re adding a portable stereo mixer to the lineup. The company just announced Bestie, a tiny mixer with plenty of vintage vibes and control options. This 5-channel stereo mixer boasts individual channel mutes and gain boosts up to +20 dB, so it should integrate nicely with a diverse array of instruments, from guitars to synthesizers and beyond.
This is a Bastl product, though, so innovation comes in the form of a built-in stereo distortion and saturation tool. Low-noise preamps accompany each channel, shining a spotlight on any saturation effects you apply. The effects go from subtle to absolute destruction with the twist of a dial. The company says that it will create a “distinct tremolo-like effect” when pushed to the maximum.
Design-wise, the Bestie takes many cues from its cousin, the Dude monophonic mixer. The form factor is portable and it is powered by a USB-C connection or four AA batteries. There are five stereo channels, translating to five audio sources, but there is a slight caveat. Just like many ultra-portable mixers like Teenage Engineering’s TX-6, the Bestie features tiny 3.5mm input jacks.
These jacks offer instant integration with gadget-like instruments, such as Korg Volcas and the like, but you will need an adapter (or five) to connect to professional-grade synthesizers, guitars and just about anything else. Unlike Teenage Engineering’s mixer, however, it looks like there is enough room in the back of the Bestie to accommodate 3.5mm to ¼-inch stereo jack adapters.
There is one other point of mention to separate Bastl’s new mixer from the pack. At $200, this thing is extremely budget-friendly. Compare that to the TX-6’s mammoth price tag of $1,200 and you can see the appeal. There are other mass-market portable mixers at this price range, but none with this kind of unique audio pedigree. The Bastl Bestie stereo mixer is available to demo at this week’s NAMM 2023 conference and is currently available for preorder, with products shipping out in the coming weeks.
