Grammys host Trevor Noah claimed she was stuck in traffic[/caption]
Viola Davis – who herself won a Grammy Award, earning an EGOT title – stepped on stage to announce the nominees in the Best R&B Song category before revealing that Beyonce had won.
The camera panned around the room and viewers were eager to get a glimpse at Beyonce, who host Trevor Noah had earlier claimed was present.
When it finally came back around to the stage, fans were surprised to see two men – Terius “The Dream” Gesteelde-Diamant and Nile Rodgers – holding the Grammy Award.
Terius said something inaudible to viewers at home into the microphone before adding: “Beyonce thanks y’all.”
Suddenly, Trevor stepped in to explain, assuring viewers: “Beyonce is on her way.”
He claimed she was “stuck in traffic” and would be there shortly.
The former Daily Show host also announced: “Beyonce has now equaled the award for most Grammys of all time.”
Finally, Nile stepped forward to say a few words about working with Beyonce and more.
“When I got called to play on this song it was the most organic thing that ever happened to me. I heard this song and I just said ‘I want to play on that. Right now,’” he gushed.
“And it was one take. I promise. I played it. It was one take. … It was just what I felt in my heart and I’m so happy to be working with you all.”
Beyonce arrived at the show not long after, which Trevor announced on the broadcast.
He joked: “The queen is officially in the building. Ladies and gentlemen, Beyonce Knowles. I was shocked that traffic could stop you. I thought you traveled through space and time.”
FANS REACT
Fans weren’t buying Beyonce’s excuse, however, and flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One viewer wrote: “If y’all believe for one second that Beyoncé is late in traffic,” with a half frowning face.
Another tweeted: “listen, I don’t believe she in traffic. I think Beyoncé just like me and is just late everywhere. maybe she almost stayed home. like me.”
A third added: “beyonce running late because of traffic really means “if you think i’m coming on before my performance you must be out yo mind”
Someone else added: “Trevor Noah clearly loves Beyoncé and knows she in the building keep’n out of the way”
Another fan tweeted: “Beyonce ain’t stuck in no traffic.”
Others seemed to find it funny, with one writing: “Beyoncé, late to the Grammys, on what will be her history-making night. Relatable queen. I love it.”
OKAY, BEY!
While Beyonce was tardy to the party on Music’s Biggest Night, she did give fans an eyeful the night before.
She and her superstar friend Adele were seen out and about before the Grammys rocking some stunning fashions.
Beyonce wore a futuristic white outfit during a showbiz brunch where she was joined by model Winnie Harlow.
Adele, meanwhile, was wrapping up the tenth weekend of her Las Vegas residency.
During the show, she and chef Gordon Ramsay shared a cheeky and shocking smooch.
He wrote on social media: “Hello… It’s an incredible show by @adele tonight!
“Stunning performance. Congrats.”
She was nominated for seven awards ahead of the LA ceremony compared to 41-time Grammy winner Beyonce, who led the way with nine.
They were both up for best album, song, and record of the year.
Beyonce was celebrated for her album Renaissance and lead single Break My Soul, while Adele’s nominations were for album 30 and single Easy On Me.

New horror film is ‘scariest EVER made’ as it leaves viewers ‘paralysed with fear’ – here’s how to watch it
A NEW horror film documenting a waking nightmare has been dubbed the “scariest ever made” after spooking viewers.
The terrifying new flick Skinamarink has left audiences “paralysed with fear.”
The experimental art film – created by Canadian director Kyle Edward Ball – has awoken many adults’ childhood fear of the dark.
It tells the story of brother and sister, Kevin, four, and Kaylee, six, who wake up to find their parents have disappeared.
The duo swiftly realise all the windows and doors in their home have vanished – before things start to go bump in the night.
They camp out in the living room to comfort each other, bringing pillows and blankets.
A description explains: “They play well-worn videotapes of cartoons to fill the silence of the house and distract from the frightening and inexplicable situation.
“All the while in the hopes that eventually some grown-ups will come to rescue them.
“However, after a while it becomes clear that something is watching over them.”
The horror movie then takes a dark turn as terror ensues for the two children.
Furniture disappears and reappears, toys move on their own, and the siblings even start to hear voices – leaving the audience shrinking into their younger selves.
It becomes difficult for the characters and viewers to decipher what is real and what is not.
The kids are then given a string of horrific instructions by a chilling voice who begins to converse with them.
It instructs little Kevin to gouge out his own eye with a knife in one horrifying scene.
The unnerving film transports viewers back to their childhood, powerless to the monsters lurking in the dark.
Skinamarink premiered on January 13 this year and is currently still being shown in cinemas in the US.
It has already grossed a whopping $1.5m (£1.2m) at the box office – despite being rumoured to have cost just $15,000 (£12,000) to make.
For Brits who feel brave enough to endure the movie, you can also stream it on the website Shudder.
It was described as a “waking nightmare” by the Independent, who said it evoked an “atmosphere of dread”.
Inverse echoed the comments, while boldly crowning it as the “scariest movie of all time.”
“The most sinister and downright malevolent story put to film in a long time.
“It will put a spell on you, paralyze you, and invade your very soul in a way no other film can or has even tried to.
“It is without question one of the best horror movies ever made, period,” the review concluded.
They praised the director’s carefully selected jump scares, saying they “are the most effective in recent memory.”
“Ball is calculated about when he actually places horrors for us to find in the shadows, but he knows when to pack on the scares and when to use restraint,” Inverse said.
The director was previously a popular YouTube creator who produced short films inspired by nightmares that his subscribers shared with him.
He based Skinamarink on a recurring dream he has had and filmed the petrifying movie in his childhood home in Edmonton, Canada.
Ball borrowed vintage cameras from a local film organisation and managed to wrap up the entire shoot in just seven days.
He’s pleased with its reception too, saying: “Everything that a filmmaker dreams would happen to them, except for winning an Oscar, has happened to me in the span of just a couple of months.”
According to Variety, the horror film “invites us to get back in touch with every childhood fear you ever had about some midnight monster lurking in the shadows.”
Vulture gushed that it “forgoes standard storytelling to instead try to re-create the sensation of being scared.”
And the New York Times described Skinamarink’s ability to “ingeniously evoke a child’s response to the inexplicable” as “mesmerising”.

Royal fans all say the same thing about Prince Harry’s bombshell interview as viewers blast ‘he’s getting an easy ride’
ROYAL fans who watched Prince Harry’s much-anticipated interview last night all said the same thing.
The Duke of Sussex, 38, dropped a number of bombshells in his interview with Tom Bradby – including the claim that William and Kate did not welcome Meghan into the family.
Some viewers think the interviewer was too soft on the prince[/caption]

As the Duke was questioned by the interviewer some viewers noted that Bradby – an old pal of Harry’s – went too soft on the Prince.
Royal fans took to Twitter with one saying: “Tom Bradby has been largely c**p.
“He may THINK he has asked challenging questions. But never called Harry out.
“Never asked ‘how’, ‘where’ or ‘why’.”
Another one wrote: “Tom Bradby is either a terrible interviewer or he’s deliberately trying to discredit Harry.”
Someone added: “Good interview. But Tom Bradby instantly retreated as soon as Harry got hyper defensive when the William counter narrative was presented to him…”
While one Twitter user said: “Harry is getting an easy ride.”
Prince Harry picked Tom Bradby for his first UK book interview as they have been friends for over 20 years.
Tom first met Prince Harry when he was ITV’s royal correspondent.
Bradby was given the opportunity to interview William and Kate following their engagement in November 2010.
He also attended both of the Princes’ weddings.
He later became closer to Harry as he spoke exclusively to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their Royal tour of Africa.
Harry had admitted to Bradby at the time that he and William were “on different paths at the moment.”
Prince William was said to have felt “let down” by the ITV news anchor after he sided with Harry and Meghan following Megxit.
Bradby later admitted he went easier on Meghan and Harry during the royal African tour because they were “vulnerable”.
During tonight’s interview, the Duke of Sussex hit back at claims that he launched a scathing attack on Queen Consort Camilla when they were introduced.
He also revealed that he said he only cried once after his mother died – and it was at her burial.
He said that even as he met crowds of Brits mourning Princess Di while walking past the 50,000 floral tributes laid for her, he showed no emotion.
Harry’s sit-down interview has tonight been broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX.
