Magnum PI star Tom Selleck hails from former pit village near Barnsley
ALL-American Magnum PI star Tom Selleck hails from a former pit village near Barnsley, research has found.
The 78-year-old telly actor was born in Detroit, Michigan, and solved crimes in Hawaii in the hit 1980s series.
So it was a shock for distant cousin Caroline Coffey, 55, when she found him on a branch of her family tree.
The retired child support worker revealed: “Tom’s great-great-grandfather Robert Jagger was born in Yorkshire in 1856 and one of his sons, Thomas, emigrated to America.
“My gran was a Jagger.”
Caroline said she found a picture of her great-grandad Robert and he was “a dead ringer” of Tom — with the same eyes and moustache.
She said: “When I saw that, along with the other research I had done, I knew that Tom was part of our family.
“I always thought there was something about him.”
Capcom strips Denuvo from Resident Evil Village after nearly two years
To prove their point, one cracking team removed the DRM from Village and found that suddenly, the game ran flawlessly without any stuttering issues. Subsequent testing from Rich Leadbetter with Digital Foundry came to the same conclusion – the cracked version without the anti-piracy DRM exhibited far superior performance.

Our picturesque village was once a set for Pride and Prejudice – now it’s being taken over by holiday homes
RESIDENTS living in a village where Pride and Prejudice was filmed say it’s now been taken over by holiday homes.
The Peak District spot is still as picturesque as it was when the village was used as a set nearly 30 years ago.
Longnor village in the Staffordshire Moorlands Peak District was once used to film Price and Prejudice[/caption]
But locals say their picturesque town is now being overrun by something[/caption]
But locals living in the North Staffordshire village of Longnor say a lot has changed in that time.
Some say they used to know almost every person that lived in every house – now properties sit empty as they’re used as holiday homes.
In 1995 the village became the fictitious town of Lambton for the BBC‘s adaptation of the Jane Austen novel Pride and Prejudice, which Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle starred in.
Arthur Armitt lived in Longnor when the filming was underway – he’s called the village home his whole life.
But he said in that time holiday homes had been what altered the area.
Arthur told StokeonTrentLive: “It’s the same as it has always been. However, it has changed in one aspect.
“There are a lot more holiday cottages. At one time in the past, I knew everyone in every house. Now it’s like I don’t know anyone.”
He said the holiday homes were causing issues for first-home buyers, adding: “I am sorry about it in one aspect I guess. Young people in the village cannot buy any properties and to be honest, I can’t see it getting any better.”
Rachel Kempster, who has lived in the village for 20 years, said there was still a good community in Longnor.
She said: “It is very nice on the whole. There is a good community spirit.”
Rachel said that she owned a “small holiday let” in the village and while she saw similar issues to Arthur, she did think the town benefitted from tourism.
Rachel said: “There is the capacity for holiday homes in the village, holiday homes do bring in money and business.
“The issue is people who have second homes in the village. People don’t use them.
“But sadly I think that is the case with most villages like Longnor in the Peak District.”
Steven Hitchen, who is the subpostmaster at the Post Office, has called Longnor home for 15 years and said he loves how it is “very peaceful”.
Steven added: “It is becoming more holiday lets. It can be good in some ways but not in others.”
Longnor is not the first town to run into issues with holiday homes.
Locals at one seaside resort said the rental homes were even leaving locals homeless – and their streets like a ghost town.
Another town said second homeowners were ruining their town, and they were forced to take desperate measures.
Residents in another village even said property prices were skyrocketing as a result of greedy second homeowners.

Chicago’s Little Village Plaza WINGED HUMANOID Eyewitness Comments
The following comments were received after the posting of the Little Village winged humanoid sighting at the Little Village Plaza on Sunday, February 5th, at about 11:00 PM.
“I live 2 hours west of the city. Summer of 2005 I was driving through Loves Park on Riverside when something flew over my car. At the time of me noticing it, I heard something say my name very loudly right next to me as if it came from in my car.
Fall of 2009. I was outside of my apartment smoking a cigarette when I saw something fly over the building about 20 feet in the air. Had a huge wingspan and seemed like a Pterodactyl just flew over me.
Both instances were very quick and it freaks me out to this day. These are the things I think about every time I see Chicago Mothman stories.” RK

“I reside in this general area. About 1 year ago, I was driving through the town of Barrington Hills northwest of Chicago. As I drove east around maybe 6-630? It was dawn and light began to emerge from the east as sunrise.
I proceeded east on 62/Palatine Road and saw some gigantic flying ? in the sky, almost staying and keeping up with the night that was departing. The creature definitely changed directions and appeared to be like a plane. I knew it wasn’t because of how SLOW it seemed to go at times.
I tried to get a picture with my cell but it was fruitless. Too far. But 100%, here is a creature aloft here or some party that has some 2023 flying suit platform that is huge. It was big enough for me to see and it was 5+ miles away. Chasing the horizon west.” D
