WoW’s cross-faction guilds don’t take the ‘war’ out of Warcraft
I asked Blizzard about WoW cross-faction guilds in the wake of World of Warcraft Dragonflight and, while the devs remained tight-lipped, I was pretty sure we’d see them implemented alongside WoW Dragonflight patch 10.1. In the wake of the announcement, I asked production director Pat Dawson and lead quest designer Maria Hamilton whether or not the MMO‘s cross-faction play takes the ‘war’ out of ‘Warcraft,’ a sentiment I’ve seen floating around the internet for a while.

World of Warcraft gets a battle pass today with the Trading Post — fancy cosmetics and a few bugs abound
World of Warcraft is getting the trading post starting today, a battle pass style system that allows players to complete challenges for tender tokens that can be traded in for a rotating collection of cosmetics.
It’ll be free too! All players who play World of Warcraft now have a whole new type of content to engage with aside from raids, dungeons, PvP and legacy content. Hopefully with this, some of the typical grind of dailies and weeklies can be chipped away.
Those with characters in the Horde or Alliance can find the trading post in Stormwind and Orgrimmar respectively, where vendors and a selection of the current rewards are displayed for interested parties. Just for logging in each month, you get 500 tender, at which point you can earn an additional 500 from monthly challenges.

Blizzard Might Be Floating A Warcraft 3 Reforged Relaunch
A new survey indicates that Blizzard might be gauging interest for a massive, restructuring update for Warcraft 3 Reforged.
According to a report from Warcraft Tavern, Blizzard put out a survey asking what features players would most like to see in Reforged. The question asks how appealing of each of the listed features are, from a scale of very unappealing to very appealing. Suggested features include global custom games, an art update, UI/UX revamp, a storage size reduction, and an environmental art rework. The survey also asks players whether a “soft relaunch” with many of these features would motivate them to play or purchase.
The survey also asks various other questions about the remake of the classic RTS game. For example, whether they have purchased the game, how much they’ve played it, and what has held them back from playing the game.

NetEase staff take hammers to World Of Warcraft statue, calls Blizzard “unseemly and commercially illogical”
Blizzard’s 14 year relationship with Chinese publisher NetEase will come to an end on January 23rd, at which time World Of Warcraft will go offline for millions of Chinese players. As the date approaches, NetEase have livestreamed staff dismantling a giant WoW axe statue at their offices with hammers, and called Blizzard’s actions “brash, unseemly and commercially illogical.”
Warcraft 3 Reforged patch 1.35 adds long-awaited custom campaigns
Warcraft 3 Reforged patch 1.35 is set to finally add custom campaigns next week, almost three years after release. One of the most requested features absent from the remaster, the ability for players to create their own encounters and share them with other fans was a staple feature of one of the best strategy games on PC. The Warcraft 3 modding scene, of course, gave us many notable modes – most famously among them being Defence of the Ancients, which would later branch out and evolve into the likes of Dota 2 and League of Legends.
