How God of War’s Devs Rebuilt the Blades of Chaos – Art of the Level
God of War’s story recap reminds you why everyone’s so excited about this year’s biggest PlayStation game
If it’s been a while since you’ve played 2018’s God of War, you’re in luck, as PlayStation has created a very convenient recap video.
With the amount of games there are to get through practically on a daily basis, it would be pretty understandable if the story of the practically ancient (four years counts as ancient) God of War didn’t manage to stick around in your head for too long. Thankfully, over on the PlayStation blog we’ve been gifted with a recap, paired with a Myths of Midgard video narrated by actress Felicia Day.
The blog post is pretty much your standard recap affair. It reminds you who Krato is, if you managed to forget, and his son, Atreus, also known as capital B Boy. To go along with the important plot beats, you’ve got some screenshots that help visualise everything, but the better way to refamiliarise yourself with the story is the video.
Oscar Isaac’s Down for More Star Wars, So He Must Need Another House
Back in 2015 when Star Wars: The First Awakens released, the movie served as a huge boost to Oscar Isaac’s profile. Though he’d been in plenty of films before then, playing Poe Dameron put him on everyone’s radar, to the point where he’s become a Marvel superhero and him coming to Comic-Con is considered a Big Deal.

Xbox “encouraged the console wars” for some healthy competition, says former exec
The console wars hit their peak during the PS3 and Xbox 360 era, and a former Xbox executive has recently explained why the company encouraged it.
Those of us who lived through the PS3 and Xbox 360 era of pointlessly arguing which console was better know that discussions could sometimes get unnecessarily heated. But former Xbox executive Peter Moore, who helped oversee the company in that era, recently touched on how he “encouraged the console wars,” as a way to elicit some healthy competition in his team (thanks, GameSpot).
“We encouraged the console wars, not to create division, but to challenge each other, and when I say each other I mean Microsoft and Sony,” said Moore on the Front Office Sports podcast. “If Microsoft hadn’t stuck the course after the Xbox, after the red rings of death, gaming would be a poorer place for it, you wouldn’t have the competition you have today.”
