Xbox sales during Microsoft’s third quarter fell 30% and there were little gains in content and services
Microsoft has released its financial report for the third quarter ended March 31, 2023, with the company noting a 30% decline in Xbox sales.
This was due to the prior year’s comparable high that benefited from increased console supply.
As part of the More Personal Computing segment, despite sales of Xbox falling, content and services revenue for the console increased by 3%. This was driven by better-than-expected monetization in third-party and first-party content and growth in Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft’s Xbox controllers are $40 at Walmart in the US after a $25 discount
I’ve written before about my love for the standard Xbox Series Wireless Controller, which provide a comfortable feel, responsive controls and laudable build quality for a default console gamepad. These units normally retail for $64.99 in the US, but today the Electric Volt colour is down to $39.99 at Walmart.
Despite another year of support, The Division 2 won’t be getting a native PS5 or Xbox Series X/S version
Ubisoft recently hosted an event dedicated to catching everyone up on news from The Division sphere. We got a fresh look at The Division Heartland, the free-to-play PvEvP survival hybrid, as well as some updates about the mobile spin-off The Division Resurgence.
But the big news was arguably confirmation that The Division 2 will be getting one more year of support. Beginning in June, the game will kick off its Year 5, which is made up of four seasons.
Season One: Broken Wings marks the start of a new arc for the game’s story, and introduces a free mode called Descent, which brings a rogue-lite take on The Division’s gameplay, where up to four players start fresh with no gear or perks, and would need to unlock them as they go.
Xbox Steam sale amazingly offers you the best of Game Pass for cheap
This Xbox Steam sale is great if you don’t have Xbox Game Pass, or even if you do but you’d rather own certain games on Valve’s storefront. The gaming arm of Microsoft is currently selling loads of its developed and published back catalogue on Steam at a greatly discounted price, with Gears of War, Halo, Forza, Age of Empires, and plenty of incredible indie hits making the cut – some of these are so good, they may as well feel like free games.
