Information about an extremely useful but often very frustrating tool for prising away information—UFO-related and otherwise—from the Federal Government. Jack Brewer discusses the procedure with examples from his own works-in-progress and suggests further resources. He’s particularly interested in FBI files and its former Director J. Edgar Hoover; Emma Best and Hillenkoetter/Hoover October 24 1950 (Central Intelligence Agency) provide examples of another FOIA’er’s efforts in that arena. Some of these record quite interesting encounters, and two feature the separate comments “Just what 2020 needs is a UFO sighting” and “2020 has been crazy so if Aliens are around it would probably almost seem normal.” (WM)
