DOJ charges Russian hacker linked to attacks against US law enforcement agencies
The US State Department has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information that leads to the arrest of a prolific hacker. On Monday, the Department of Justice filed criminal charges against Mikhail Pavlovich Matveev, a Russian national and resident with links to the infamous Hive, LockBit and Babuk ransomware gangs. Starting as early as 2020, Matveev has allegedly targeted US law enforcement and healthcare organizations on multiple occasions.
In April 2021, for instance, he was linked to a Babuk ransomware attack that saw the computer systems of the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington DC locked out. Last May, Matveev, whose online pseudonyms include Wazawaka, Uhodiransomwar, m1x, and Boriselcin, was allegedly involved in a Hive ransomware attack that targeted a healthcare NGO in New Jersey.
Separately, the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control announced sanctions against Matveev. “Matveev has been vocal about his illegal activities. He has provided insight into his cybercrimes in media interviews, disclosed exploit code to online criminals, and stated that his illicit activities will be tolerated by local authorities provided that he remains loyal to Russia,” the Treasury said.
Of the ransomware gangs Matveev is allegedly affiliated with, LockBit is among the most active and destructive. As of late 2022, the group’s malware has infected the computer systems of at least 1,400 victims, including a Holiday Inn hotel in Turkey. According to the Justice Department, the gang’s affiliates have extracted at least $75 million in ransom payments. Security researchers recently found evidence that suggests that LockBit recently began targeting Mac computers.

SBF Asks Court To Dismiss Most Criminal Charges Against Him
According to Ars Technica, SBF’s lawyers are essentially arguing that there’s no evidence of harm caused because fraud requires a “scheme to cause economic loss to the victim,” which prosecutors allegedly haven’t proved. Instead, SBF alleges that federal prosecutors have concocted “a hodgepodge of different intangible losses” suffered by banks and lenders — including “the right to honest services,” “the loss of control of assets,” and “the deprivation of valuable information.” […] “In the end, the Government is trying to transform allegations of dishonesty and unfair dealing into violations of the federal fraud statutes,” SBF’s lawyers wrote. “While such conduct may well be improper, it is not wire fraud.”
The 31-year-old Bankman-Fried, who is currently under house arrest on a $250 million bond at his parents’ home in Palo Alto, California, faces more than 155 years in prison if convicted on all counts. A trial has been scheduled for October.

Shop owner Mohammed Azar Nazir, 41,was recently blasted for flogging KSI’s drink for £100 a pop.
But now they are charging ten times that for a new type of the sports drink – Prime Lemonade.
And two lads yesterday splashed out on a dozen bottles – setting them back a whopping £12,000.
Now the shop has just 12 bottles left in stock.
Prime, marketed as an energy drink, has taken the world by storm, especially with youngsters and teenagers who are desperate to get their hands on it.
The drink claims to “help you refresh, replenish, and refuel”, it contains B vitamins, electrolytes and coconut water.
It was released in June last year and still has thousands of kids — or their parents — scrambling to snap up any of its eight flavours.
Even celebrities are using their star power to try to shortcut the queues, with Wayne Rooney pestering KSI for a bottle for son Kit’s seventh birthday in January and Stacey Solomon getting in touch to say she couldn’t find any on the supermarket shelves.
Since the drink launched it had been available for £2 from Asda, Aldi and Spar.
Premier League club Arsenal announced a partnership with the brand a month later, making the drinks available for fans at their Emirates Stadium on match days.
Sainsbury’s in February started stocking the drink, and due to the large volume of calls it receives about the product, issued a statement saying: “Our Contact Centre colleagues don’t have any further information on the stock of Prime drinks currently available.
“If you’d like to know the availability of Prime drinks in your local store, please visit the store itself.”

Destiny 2 Titan exploit for instant shoulder charges is seriously OP
A Destiny 2 Titan exploit gives players instant shoulder charges without running, allowing Guardians to move quickly across areas and do serious damage when used with the right builds in the FPS game. YouTuber InSaNeGaMeR300 posted a video of the exploit titled ‘Instant Shoulder Charge Without Running’ that claims they discovered it while testing the Titan Burning Maul Super ability.
“You can constantly spam shoulder charge without any run up. To do this you need to be on Burning Maul and the Hammer Strike melee. Next, while mid slide activate your super and that’s it,” the video’s description says. “Now you can spam shoulder charge and even fly with Lion Rampants and catapult jump. With Insurmountable Skullfort and the Arc shoulder charge you have unlimited melees and crazy movement with the thruster ability.”
