Shocking video shows mourners fight with machetes & axes after high-speed van chase in massive funeral brawl at cemetery
EXTRAORDINARY footage shows the moment a machete brawl explodes in a GRAVEYARD during a funeral.
Seven of the thugs were jailed after a row between two family factions boiled over at Morriston Crematorium in Swansea, Wales.
Horrified mourners from two other funerals watched axe-wielding louts churn up plots and smash headstones as they set about each other.
Chilling dashcam video shows James Coffey, 45 – jailed for two years and three months for the brawl – hurl himself into a van armed with a pickaxe handle.
Just seconds later a black car drifts sideways and ploughs into another vehicle at speed.
Glass shatters over Coffey as a thug sees to his windscreen before a vehicle chase tears off through the cemetery with family onboard.
Two vans hurtle down footpaths at high speed before one narrowly misses a wheelchair and a carer.
Grabbing anything from foot-long machetes to axes, hammers, bricks, shovels and even a broom – the feuding mourners burst out their vehicles and charge.
A violent brawl sees the bloodied thugs – wearing vests and hoodies for the solemn occasion – slash and batter each other next to headstones and floral tributes.
Amid the chaos Coffey retreats to his van where he wipes away blood gushing from his head after being slashed.
The violence also spilled into the remembrance room at the venue where water from a flower vase was spat on the floor.
Following the horror, police checked hospitals around the south-west of Wales knowing people caught up had been seriously hurt.
They later caught several suspects on camera trying to dispose of weapons by throwing them into a stream near a farm.
Swansea Crown Court heard the fight was sparked by an ongoing feud between two sides of a family – the O’Brian and Coffey faction, and the Murphy and Thomas faction.
Seven men were jailed for between 16 months and three years after admitting violent disorder for brawl last August 5.
They were Patrick Murphy, 40, Andrew Thomas, 40, Martin O’Brian, 58, and John O’Brian, 53, all of Llanelli, and Jeffrey Tawse, 23, John Coffey Jr, 24, and James Coffey, 45, all from Cardiff.
Murphy’s sons Paddy, 19, and John, 18, of Llanelli, got suspended jail terms.
Judge Paul Thomas KC said: “It was beyond the realms of coincidence that between the two sides of the conflict at least one machete, lump hammer, baseball bat, pickaxe handle, shovel, and probably golf clubs were available for use.
“From the available footage some of those present for the blessing were dressed as one would expect for a solemn occasion.
“Many others were in vests with weaponry readily to hand in their vehicles or on their person.”
Detective inspector Carl Price, who was in charge of the investigation, told Wales Online: “With the kinds of weapons that were used and way vehicles were driven around the cemetery it is lucky nobody was killed.”
Detective Chief Inspector Mike Owens added: “This was an absolutely appalling incident that would have terrified those peacefully attending the cemetery in the middle of the day.
“The group, who are all known to each other, committed violent offences and were seen using weapons against each other.”

JPMorgan Chase Requires Tech Workers Give 6 Months Notice Before Quitting
Taking to the social media platform Blind — which allows career professionals anonymity so that they can freely post without concern about retribution from their bosses — the worker in the e-trade division lamented over the policy. “So I had made up my mind to resign from JPM (New York) and look for a new role,” the Blind poster wrote in an item titled, “Notice period blues. When I looked into the resignation process, I see that my notice period is 6 bloody months!! I was in disbelief, I checked my offer letter and ‘Whoops there it is,'” the post continued.

Shocking moment knife-wielding thugs chase dad down just before stabbing him to death
THIS is the shocking moment knife-wielding thugs hunt down a dad before stabbing him to death.

Lee Dawson, 42, died of fatal stab wounds – one of which plunged 16cm into his chest[/caption]
Catching up with the 42-year-old dad they delivered fatal stab wounds – one of which plunged 16cm into his chest.
Lee had initially tried to face off against his two killers and another attacker, Robert Cross, 34, after they lay in wait for him just before 3am on June 17 last year.
But after the three men raced after Lee, he tripped and fell, allowing Bibby and Wilcock to carry out the horrific slaying.
Both received minimum life sentences of 24 years following a three-week trial at Preston Crown Court.
Following the sentencing, Lee’s mum, Christine Dawson, said the jail time wouldn’t replace the “heartache” of his loss.
She said: “No sentence imposed will bring back a much-loved son, brother, father and friend or reflect the heartache and pain these people have inflicted on our family.
“A mother should not have to witness her son die. Lee had so much to live for and these people have taken that away.”
Lee was mercilessly killed after returning to his home town of Preston, Lancs., from Sunderland for a funeral.
He was with family the day before and then attended a house party on Driscoll Street at around 2am, where he punched Bibby in the face following an argument.
Bibby and Wilcock then left the home before returning to confront Lee with knives while wearing face coverings.
But after cops arrived at the address, they waited for Lee in a different location, coming across him and his friend on East Street at 2.47am.
During the confrontation, Lee removed his top and wrapped it around his arm.
Both Bibby and Wilcock swung knives in Lee’s direction.
It was then that Robert Cross came on the scene having run along East Street, with Kerry-Ann Metcalf walking behind him.
Lee was chased along said street by Bibby and Cross, followed by Wilcock – running 85 metres to Jutland Street before tripping.
The killers pounced as he hit the floor and stabbed him several times – the fatal wound plunged 16cm into his chest.
Lee managed to get up momentarily but was found on the pavement with serious injuries and pronounced dead at 4.05am.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Haworth-Oates, of Lancashire Police’s Force Major Investigation Team, said after the sentence the killers had shown “senseless violence”.
He added: “Bibby and Wilcock could have walked away from their argument with Mr Dawson at any time.
“But instead they went to collect knives, put on face coverings and lay in wait from him to come past before attacking him.
“All of those involved left Mr Dawson on the pavement to die – something that his family have had to watch play out during the trial as they try to come to terms with his loss.”
