While Philip K Dick died in 1982, more than forty years later we are living in his paranoid and duplicitious vision of reality. Larger than life characters wielding incredible power, unbelievable news perpetuated from mainstream and alternative media, along with a lying zeitgeist forcing people to question reality. Wondering about the realities where things happened better, rather than addressing the world in front of our noses. S.I. Rosenbaum gives their perspective on this pervasive belief and how it affected them and others. But just in case we are in a simulation, Darren Orf has a summary of how one Scientist Reveals How to Escape Our Simulation. And it’s not saying, “Computer, end program” like Jean-Luc Picard. As for the down-and-dirty details, get ’em straight from the horse’s mouth. Or at least Roman Yampolsky’s mouth tackling the question, “ Can We Hack Our Way Out Of The Universe?” Clip-and-save, true believers. We might need Roman’s advice in the near future. Now we reckon it’d be nifty to live in the universe where Pons and Fleischmann’s gadget actually worked, but What Is Cold Fusion? Is It Possible? Or just another pipe dream of a world that will never be? Now it seems Google is gathering a team to investigate this maverick technology and, hopefully, see if it does work as described back in the spring of 1989. (CS)
