Disney’s Haunted Mansion: Trailer, Release Date, Cast, And Everything We Know About Them Theme Park-Based Movie
The new Disney’s Haunted Mansion movie is due out on July 28. Think of it as a redo; Disney made a first attempt at a Haunted Mansion franchise back in 2003, but it was both a critical and a commercial failure. Has the company learned its lesson from this prior misstep?
Disney has two distinct approaches to its big-budget, tentpole films. The first is to take classic animated films and convert them into live-action spectacles (or, in the case of The Lion King, a photorealistic animated spectacle). The quality of these films is wildly inconsistent and largely depends on whether the original material had room for improvement. That’s why The Jungle Book adaptation was fantastic. And it’s also why The Lion King adaptation was so bad.
The second approach is even less reliable than the first; it’s to take Disney theme park rides or experiences, and expand them into full-length feature films. The quality of these films is also inconsistent; for every Oscar-nominated blockbuster like Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, we also get a movie like The Country Bears.
Karl Urban In Talks To Join Cast Of Mortal Kombat Sequel Film – Report
Karl Urban is reportedly in final talks to join the cast of the highly anticipated sequel to New Line’s 2021 blockbuster film Mortal Kombat. The Wrap was first to report that Urban is being considered to play Johnny Cage.
The sequel, which will be directed by Simon McQuoid and written by Jeremy Slater, will be produced by Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Broken Road Production’s Todd Garner, Simon McQuoid, and E. Bennett Walsh. Karl Urban, who is currently starring in Amazon’s hit series The Boys, is no stranger to blockbuster films, having appeared in Thor: Ragnarok, Star Trek, and The Lord of the Rings.
Released in April 2021, the first Mortal Kombat film was a violent and gritty adaptation of the popular video game series created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. Since its debut, the movie has been one of the top feature titles on HBO Max, garnering a massive audience. The post-credits scene of the original movie teased the inclusion of Johnny Cage in the upcoming sequel.

Pedro Pascal Joins Star-Studded Gladiator 2 Cast – Report
The Last of Us and Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal is reportedly in talks to come on board for the Gladiator sequel directed by Ridley Scott. His role seems unknown at this time, but he could shoot the film before returning as Joel for Season 2 of the HBO series.
Deadline reports final negotiations are underway for Pascal to join the Gladiator sequel. He could be the second addition to the film within a day, as Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn was apparently in talks for the film too.
Aftersun actor Paul Mescal is set to star in Gladiator 2 as Lucious, the son of Lucilla (being reprised by Connie Nielson) and nephew of Commodus (originally portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix). Denzel Washington is also apparently playing a major role in the sequel and reteaming with Scott for the first time since American Gangster. Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin) is also part of the star-studded cast.
Star Trek: Picard’s Cast and Crew Still Really Want That Legacy Spinoff
Star Trek: Picard’s final season felt as much like a hello as it did a farewell, as Picard and his friends handed the torch to a new generation of Starfleet heroes. It’s felt much the same off screen too, as showrunner Terry Matalas and his cast have told anyone who will listen to them that they really really really want
