Dr. Karl Shuker takes us on a ride at the crossroads where culture and cryptozoology meet. Shuker’s website regularly features a picture of the day, a strange creature that begs more investigation and today we’re starting with Jocko, a very large lemur-like biped, credited with giving its own life to save that of a child. Next we look at An Exclusive New Portrait of the Irish Elk, Megaloceros Giganteus, believed to be a prehistoric carryover from the early Holocene period, sporting antlers that would have made even prehistoric hunters covetous. As a side note, Shuker’s investigative process is as interesting as the portraits themselves. (CM)
