Linkup is the trailblazing new social app, encouraging like-minded people to meet in the moment and live for today. Linkup is a platform for creating and discovering real-life ‘linkups’ that very same day.
Revolutionising the way we build new connections and forge friendships, Linkup gives users the opportunity to create linkups based on shared passions or interests. Currently, the struggle to socialise again and form bonds with new people has created a deeper reliance on social media and digital networks.
Linkup is flipping the current situation on its head, with a vision to provide a simple, easy and fun way to meet people in real life: a social media app that makes you sociable.
How did you come up with the idea for the company?
Linkup is an alternative to classic social media, designed to encourage users to look beyond the screen and focus on in-person relationships. Linkup emphasises the importance of interacting with people in real life, in a digital-first society. We want to encourage people to get out there and make the most of each day by building spontaneous and platonic in-person relationships.
Social media gives us a warped view of people’s lives. Only 1% of what is shown across social media is realistic, and the truth is a lot of people are much lonelier than we may initially think, even influencers. Gen Z is the loneliest generation to date. We want to encourage people to get out of their comfort zone and live in the moment, and Linkup can be that platform.

How has the company evolved over the last couple of years?
Reflecting on how far we have come in the last 18 months, the journey is substantial. I remember sitting together drawing up the concept of Linkup, and just over a year later we have officially launched! It has been an amazing process from raising over a three-quarters of a million pounds pre-launch and creating our MVP to pitching to high profile investors and working through our core messaging structure, it’s been incredible to take the steps forward to turn this into a success.
Since launching we have already seen over 3,500 downloads! Given Linkup has been a dream for the past year, it is surreal that it’s now a reality and we cannot wait to see what the future holds.
What can we hope to see from Linkup in the future?
Linkup will be revolutionary. We want Linkup to become the go-to platform to connect people together worldwide. The goal is to see ‘linkups’ created across the globe bringing people together over shared passions and hobbies. We want to use Linkup to help you traverse borders and boundaries of making friends and creating memories.
We plan to focus on building the team, the technology and the prospect of Linkup and to do so, we will likely be looking to plan another raise. We have an incredible team of stakeholders, key investors and partners, from Krept & Konan to Pubity Group, who we are excited to continue collaborating with as Linkup takes off.
