We start with a recent Mothman encounter by a veteran firefighter and soldier at Chicago’s O’Hare airport. Taking a quick walk to get something out of his car during a night shift, this witness found himself the object of intense observation by a seven-foot-tall, winged being that was darker than the night sky. Next we look at a sample from John Keel’s Mothman Casebook: Special Report: West Virginia’s Enigmatic “Birdâ€ (2). It’s interesting to look at Keel’s first notations, as he unravelled in this instance what appeared to be MIB experiences after Mothman encounters. In Mothman Casebook: Special Report: West Virginia’s Enigmatic “Birdâ€ (3), Keel details the 1966 experiences of Marcella Bennett and includes a link to his list of Mothman sightings for 1966-1967. Keel liked to look below the surface of what could be seen, and his curiosity and resolve to understand the mystery is contagious. (CM)
