The recent kerfuffle over some Ukrainian astronomers’ claims of capturing anomalous “phantoms” and “cosmics” is well-summarized by Brandon Specktor. The Galileo Project’s Avi Loeb says artillery shells are responsible, though he does acknowledge that another set of computations than his could explain the phenomena as insects being recorded by the Ukrainian study. That’s of course what debunker Mick West has settled upon, as noted early on in Chris Lehto’s video UFO Updates Over Ukraine: Artillery Shells, Insects & No Forensics. Lehto challenges Loeb as being too hasty a “debunker” himself. Of course Loeb’s more skeptical tack towards ufology as a whole seems consistent and also might calm some of his own academic colleagues. John also does another of his “deep video dives” into the subject, including useful comments on media coverage of the “release.” And American Military News highlights points about a more recent documentary “release” in Navy Pacific Ships Faced 150+ Mysterious UFO Events: Report.
