Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Super Freaky Girl’ is enjoying a super stay in the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10. In fact, it’s one of her longest solo runs to date.
Over two months after its release, the refreshed Hot 100 reveals ‘Super,’ Minaj’s first solo chart-topper, is listed at #8 for a second week.
Having spent every week in the tally’s top 10 since premiering there in August, the Dr. Luke-produced bop is one of the longest-running, female-led top 10 hits of the year and is bested only by Lizzo‘s ‘About Damn Time’ (22 weeks) and Beyonce‘s ‘Break My Soul’ (10 weeks).*
9 weeks after debuting with the year’s highest first-week sales for any single, the tune’s enduring tenancy can be credited in great part to pure sales as ‘Super’ continues to be a super-seller on digital outlets.
Here are the numbers that powered this week’s placement.
- Streaming ≈ 12.9 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 3,800 digital downloads sold
- Radio Airplay ≈ 30.5 million
The figures above were not only enough to make ‘Super’ the best-selling Rap song of the last 7 days for a seventh week, it also marked a milestone for Minaj by becoming her third longest-running hit in the Hot 100’s top 10. Only her 2012 smash ‘Starships‘ (21 weeks) and 2011’s ‘Super Bass’ (15 weeks) have spent more time in the chart region.
