The reverberations from Kanye West‘s appearance on Drink Champs continue to spill over.
As reported, the controversial rapper took to the platform to pour fuel on the flames of his polarizing views about a multitude of topics – including race relations.
Perhaps most shocking were his remarks about George Floyd‘s death. For, despite former police officer Derek Chauvin being convicted of killing the unarmed Black man, West claimed that it was actually the drug Fentanyl that was the cause.
Now, host N.O.R.E. – who has been receiving heat in earnest for not taking West to task – is speaking up and out. And he’s in a remorseful space.

Appearing on Hot 97, N.O.R.E. said:
“As a Black man, I feel like I failed. As a human, I feel like I failed. But, as a journalist, I succeed. Because as a journalist, you’re not really supposed to have an opinion. You’re supposed to let people talk. And my biggest critique on Drink Champs is: ‘N.O.R.E., you always cut people off!’ And this is the one time I didn’t cut anyone off.”
He continued:
“I sincerely apologize to anyone who was hurt by Kanye’s words, by Kanye’s actions. I apologize for anyone I let down [for not checking Kanye early].”
On the interview overall, N.O.R.E. made clear:
“I regret it.”
In other West news, TMZ reports that George Floyd’s family are mulling filing a lawsuit against the MC.
Because Floyd is deceased, a defamation suit isn’t possible. However, word is that suing for emotional distress is being considered.
