In a surprise move, Nene Leakes has pulled the plug on her discrimination lawsuit against various forces behind the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta.’
Full story below…
As reported, the RHOA original filed suit against Bravo, production company Truly Original, franchise producer Andy Cohen, and other entities connected to the show.
Leakes alleged discrimination (including alleged racially charged remarks) and an unsafe working environment that she claims constituted a violation of federal employment and anti-discrimination laws.
The filing followed a mountain of public critiques she leveled at all parties.
Now, in a dramatic turn of events, Leakes has moved to dismiss all claims.
Per PEOPLE, papers filed show that Leakes “dismisses this action and all claims asserted without prejudice.”
It goes on to state:
“All Parties consent and stipulate to the foregoing dismissal. No party will seek recovery of costs or attorneys’ fees in any submission to this Court.”
Interestingly, the term “without prejudice” means Leakes (in theory) could file again with the same allegations – as, even in dismissing the case, she’s not legally standing down from her claims.
At the same time, instances like this could mean that a settlement of sorts was reached ahead of potentially messy legal proceedings. Or, conversely, there’s a chance an internal weigh-up of her chances in court saw her stand-down. Whatever the case, it’s officially over.
