The US government did an “about face” in Monday’s White House press briefing, according to reporters Trevor Hunnicutt and Nandita Bose. Both Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council John F. Kirby poured cold water on an extramundane cause for the three “objects” despatched since the Chinese spy balloon splash. Kirby flatly stated “I don’t think the American people need to worry about aliens with respect to these crafts, period.” And more such “walking back” comes as the NORAD Commander Doesn’t Rule Out Aliens in Spate of Unidentified Objects, New York Times Alters Story About It. Caleb Howe recounts USAF General Glen VanHerck’s Sunday remarks as first published in the Times, and later changes made to that article after interviews with national security officials were digested. England’s Metro has a tad more on the VanHerck “gaffe”(?) in Pentagon Refuses to Rule out Objects Shot Down Could be ‘Aliens’. But Senior News Reporter Liam Coleman also has more on the UK government’s reaction to possible prior and future spy balloons over the British Isles. All this has Jazz Shaw asking How Many UFOs Will We (Globally) Shoot Down This Month? “UFO guy” Shaw explains his reasons for the “elephant in the room” being—”some sort of drones that were cooked up right here on terra firma.” (WM)
