Want to know about Overwatch 2 heroes? The Overwatch 2 release date is upon us, and the sequel to Blizzard’s hero-based FPS game will feature a mixture of returning characters and new faces. As content will be shared across Overwatch 1 and 2, all of the original Overwatch characters will be in the roster. They will be joined by new heroes at launch, with more coming as part of the new Overwatch 2 seasons.
At launch, there will be three new characters joining the ranks of Overwatch 2 heroes. The new model for Overwatch 2 as a free-to-play game is expected to feature nine week-long seasons, and Blizzard says they plan to introduce a new hero to the roster with each alternate season. Therefore we can expect to see a new hero roughly every eighteen weeks, beginning with the game’s second season.
Unlike the first game, where all heroes were available to all players, you will now have to unlock future Overwatch 2 heroes from the game’s seasonal battle pass. The characters will be on the free track, starting with support character Kiriko who appears at rank 55 of the season 1 pass. Now that’s out the way, here’s everything we know about the new Overwatch 2 heroes.
