Nick Redfern discusses the highly-controversial book Walking Among Us: The Alien Plan to Control Humanity. Even its author, David M. Jacobs, described its premise of “a substantial presence of [human-alien] hybrids living on Earth” as a “seemingly ridiculous conclusion.” Nick would heartily concur with that estimation—were it not for “Men in Black” and “Women in Black.” Nick relates examples here and in The Day When a UFO Contactee Met a Woman in Black. Here Nick offers the uber-wacky story of Truman Bethurum, whose tales could easily be dismissed as the clumsy fabrications of a confidence man—save for Bethurum’s “proto-Woman-in-Black” theme. Nick also suggests a possible connection not with the stars, but with tales of earthly fairy folk females. Stories of close human-alien contact have Redfern’s Mysterious Universe colleague Brent Swancer reporting on A Strange Study on the Before and After Effects of Alien Implants and their Removal. The late podiatrist Roger Leir and his work are Brent’s foci here, plus the strange stories of Leir’s patients. (WM)
