This article rather sets the stage for the “past-due” next ODNI/DoD report on UFOs. Quoting the new “All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office’s” director Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick and Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security Ronald Moultrie, the piece certainly will not cause disquiet within those organizations. Kirkpatrick and Moultrie also feature in John Greenewald’s “Media Roundtable” Transcript about the Pentagon’s UFO Office, AARO – December 16, 2022. Notes: Sue Gough mentions AARO as replacing “the former Navy-led UAPTF,” not mentioning AOIMSG; “UAP” now stands for “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena,” rather than “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena”; and AARO has “already submitted its first congressionally-mandated quarterly reports on UAP in August in [and?] November.” Other than Moultrie “explaining” a couple of Kirkpatrick’s remarks, the press conference may prefigure an eventual public report that attempts to “lower the temperature” of public concern. At times the text reminds us of General John A. Samford press conference on July 29, 1952, in the wake of two weekends of UFO overflights of the Washington, D.C. area. It will be interesting to see how the New York Times, Politico, and other mainstream media treat this performance. (WM)
