Next, we are told of ‘Some Formless, Borderless Evil’: The Paranormal Entity Encounter of Celebrated Author Hilary Mantel. This recounting of Mantel’s gut wrenching introduction to her “gifts” is a different sort of stomach churning description of ghostly vision. Capturing what would surely today be labelled as a traumatic childhood experience, one has to wonder how Mantel’s writing career might have turned out without that terrifying pivot point. (CM)
