Spoiler Warning: The following article features the identity of Suicide Squad’s main villain.
A villain in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has seemingly leaked one of the upcoming playable characters coming from developer Rocksteady Games.
As reported by PC Gamer, main antagonist Brainiac appears to have spoiled one of the four upcoming playable characters releasing throughout Suicide Squad’s first year. And we don’t mean the voice actor behind Brainiac, but Braniac himself, in the actual game.
Reddit user ZeronintyPlays posted a gameplay clip showing their Harley Quinn taking down an enemy, only to be called the wrong name by Brainiac. “I didn’t expect you to be the weak link in this chain, Freeze,” the baddie said.
This would imply Victor Fries, better known as Mr Freeze, is one of the incoming playable characters. Rocksteady has only announced the Joker so far, leaving the last three slots open to interpretation, but Mr Freeze certainly seems likely since voice lines already seem to be recorded.
The cryogenicist turned evil villain has already appeared in the Arkhamverse, the universe shared by Suicide Squad and Rocksteady’s Arkham games. First showing up in Arkham City, Mr Freeze battles Batman a couple of times throughout the series but will be on the player’s side for the first time if he becomes playable in Suicide Squad.
The up-to-four player action game hasn’t had the hottest of starts. Those who paid an extra $30 for the Deluxe Edition, which granted three days of early access, encountered two periods of server outages as early as its opening day.
In our 5/10 review, IGN said: “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a repetitive and bland looter-shooter that, despite an engaging story, never stays fun for long enough.”
