Bungie addresses Destiny 2 Lightfall criticism with sweeping changes
Even Destiny 2 Lightfall criticism couldn’t stop millions of players from enjoying the game’s most recent expansion in the popular FPS game, which suffered from negative feedback regarding its shallow campaign, gruelling difficulty, all-new Guardian Ranks system, Commendations, and Lost Sector drop rates. However, Bungie has taken that feedback to heart in a new blog post led primarily by Destiny 2 game director Joe Blackburn, which addresses nearly every major player complaint since Lightfall’s launch.
The update highlights major adjustments to Guardian Ranks, reveals plans for Exotic focusing, explains recent difficulty causes and adjustments, shares changes based on feedback regarding Nightfall score ranking, and even promises that players will soon be able to grant Commendations for player swag.

Latest The Last Of Us Part 1 PC Hotfix Addresses Crashes, UI, And “Unintended Character Behavior”
The Last Of Part 1 on PC has received yet another hotfix looking to address a number of issues ranging from crashes to “unintended character behavior.”
In the official patch notes, Naughty Dog encourages players using Nvidia 30-series graphics cards to update their drives to version 531.58, and includes a message “directly from Nvidia” that says players using GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs may encounter random crashes.
The hotfix itself looks to address other instances of the game crashing, which have been a major complaint among PC users on Steam, where the game currently sports “Mixed” user reviews. Naughty Dog notes that the hotfix addresses UI/UX issues, unintended character behavior for both playable characters and NPCs, and includes additions to diagnostic support. Below are additional fixes listed in the patch notes.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom addresses one of BotW’s most controversial mechanics in the best way possible
There are two very distinct types of people in this world: those that like weapon durability, and those that hate it. It’s the ‘marmite’ of game design choices, and it has formed the basis of endless discourse since time immemorial. Zelda: Breath of the Wild was not like other Zelda games; the title made some massive changes to the core RPG formula that innovated hugely on the series’ personality. Instead of an old man bestowing magical swords on you in some dusty old cave, you needed to forage for your weapons – arm yourself with a branch, if needs be, in order to survive.
But branches – and by extension, anything, apparently – break. Even the Master Sword, once you got your eager hands on it, broke after some use – albeit not permanently. Breath of the Wild became quite a controversial Zelda game to some, because the weapons would break – and break quickly. Even finding yourself some ludicrous, overpowered thing didn’t fill you with that much excitement, because you knew it’d just crumble to dust in about two encounters’ time.
Enter The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, per today’s big gameplay showcase, we know a couple of important new mechanics will be added to the game. First, there’s rewind – a handy way of making falling blocks of stone from the sky retrace their steps and take you back up to the heavens. Next, there’s ascend – a sneaky little move Link can employ to pop his tousled blonde head up a ceiling and into another room.
Destiny 2 hotfix for March 23 finally addresses one of Lightfall’s biggest problems
A new hotfix landing in Destiny 2 Lightfall on March 23 is going to address a major issue that’s been causing players grief since the start of the latest expansion’s launch: finally, Cabal Thresher damage output is going to be nerfed.
Why is this important? First, a history lesson. With the launch of Lightfall, the Cabal airships got a massive upgrade. Ever since we first stepped foot on Neomuna and started experimenting with Strand powers, the pesky airships began firing missiles that can obliterate you in a single shot. Often from across the map. There’s little recourse when a Thresher cannon pops a blast at you, either; it will track around corners, and even through doors on occaision. Given that they spawn, frequently, on new Patrol location Neomuna, they’ve been the bane of many a Guardian for weeks now.
It’s even more egregious in the Nightfalls or Battlegrounds missions that have been given a makeover lately. As well as being harder in general (a change I am here for, for what it’s worth), Guardians are also having to contend with Threshers that are outputting damage at way above the intended rate. Getting one-shot by a cannon to the face when you’re trying to accrue 200k Lightfall score on Legend is the antithesis of fun, Bungie.

Diablo 4 beta update from Blizzard addresses queue times and errors
The Diablo 4 beta release has been far from perfect so far. While many players have been able to dive into the early access beta for the dark fantasy RPG game and try out its first act, the initial launch has been plagued by lengthy queue times and players being dropped from the game, as well as performance issues on some hardware. Blizzard lists out some of the known Diablo 4 errors and issues it is actively working on as the beta continues.

Biden addresses nation as tech VCs fear monger over Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse
President Joe Biden has now officially delivered public remarks about the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, offering a stark contrast between the venture capitalists who fear mongered in the days after its failure.
“Americans can have confidence that the banking system is safe,” Biden said on Monday, three days after the largest bank collapse since 2008. “Your deposits will be there when you need them.”
Biden echoed the guarantee that the Treasury Department, Federal Reserve and FDIC made on Sunday: All of Silicon Valley Bank’s depositors will be made whole and have access to all their money, even what’s beyond the FDIC-insured $250,000. Basically, any individual customer or business client of the bank will have full access to the entirety of their funds.
In addition, the president said that the money for depositors would not be funded by the taxpayer.
“No losses will be born by the taxpayers,” he said. “Instead the money will come from the fees that banks pay into the Deposit Insurance Fund.”
As for bank shareholders and investors, Biden emphasized that there would be no bailout for them.
“Investors in the banks will not be protected,” the president said. “They knowingly took a risk and when the risk didn’t pay off, investors lose their money. That’s how capitalism works.”
Silicon Valley Bank’s issues began after announcing the company needed to raise billions of dollars in capital on Wednesday. The announcement caused panic in the tech industry. Founders and VCs who were customers of the bank eventually sparked a bank run with tens of billions of dollars being withdrawn from the bank.
Biden offered a stark contrast to the apocalyptic scenarios that some tech VCs were posting about on social media over the past few days.
“Where is Powell? Where is Yellen?” venture capitalist and Elon Musk associate David Sacks posted on Friday, referring to Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell and U.S. Secretary of treasury Janet Yellen. “Stop this crisis NOW. Announce that all depositors will be safe. Place SVB with a Top 4 bank. Do this before Monday open or there will be contagion and the crisis will spread.”
“YOU SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED RIGHT NOW — THAT IS THE PROPER REACTION TO A BANK RUN & CONTAGION,” tweeted Jason Calacanis, a VC and Sacks’ podcast co-host. “@POTUS & @SecYellen MUST GET ON TV TOMORROW AND GUARANTEE ALL DEPOSITS UP TO $10M OR THIS WILL SPIRAL INTO CHAOS.”
Silvergate, Signature Bank collapse not a sign of ‘contagion’
Some pointed to recent bank closures like Silvergate and Signature Bank, which was taken over by regulators on Sunday, as proof of a spreading problem.
However, Silvergate shut down days before Silicon Valley Bank. In addition, both Silvergate and Signature Bank had well-known, lingering issues for months related to the cryptocurrency-friendly nature of those two now-failed banks. And, according to Biden, depositors from those banks will be made whole as well.
Bank stocks plunged on the market on Monday. However, some of the hardest hit on the stock market, like First Republic Bank, told CNBC that they are just not seeing that many depositors withdraw their funds.
While the dust has far from settled, one thing we haven’t seen: Everyday Americans lining up at their local banks, trying to withdraw all of their money as some VCs warned.
According to the Federal Reserve, the median account balance for the average household in the U.S. is $5,300 – well within the up to $250,000 insured by the FDIC.
