Project O.R.C.S preview – A nice option for those dipping into tabletop RPGs after beating Baldur’s Gate 3
Have you ever tried organising your own tabletop RPG session? It can be a hassle. Learning the rules, figuring out the story, getting everyone together at once for long gaming sessions…there are ample barriers standing the way of the would-be adventurer. To help break down these barriers and unlock some of gaming’s more rewarding moments, Lightforge Games is making Project O.R.C.S, which it hopes will bridge the gap between in-person DnD sessions and video games in a new and novel fashion.
The studio goes so far as to describe its new game – a collaborative RPG in which folks can both play the role of the the heroes and orchestrate the journey much like a game master would for a Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder campaign – as a new subgenre. It’s dubbed a “Collaborative Storytelling RPG” – or CSRPG – by Lightforge Games CEO Matt Schembari, and the team of former Blizzard, Epic Games, and new blood developers behind it are clearly setting their sights on lofty goals. But does the game actually succeed in offering something fresh? I was able to play a bit for myself – and came away convinced of its merits.
I played a 90-minute session as a party of four, with myself and two others being led through a generated quest under Schembari’s guidance. First came character creation – wherein you not only design the aesthetics of your character, you also are able to assign a class and various background perks. I picked a Spirit Knight – a blend between a typical warrior and necromancer able to summon spectral minions by my side. But I was also able to select a background for my character, not only providing stats that’ll prove handy later but help me establish who my character is. It’s got the tone of a character creations sheet in a tabletop RPG, which considering the mission statement of the game is definitely a good sign.
Thought Hawkeye was done for after Jeremy Renner’s near-fatal accident? Think again
The Disney+ Hawkeye series (2021) left Clint Barton in pretty much the perfect position to settle down with his family and hang up the bow, but Jeremy Renner isn’t done yet in spite of the near-fatal accident he suffered in January 2023.
The veteran Marvel Cinematic Universe actor, who’s been quite busy in the TV realm recently, told Entertainment Weekly (via Variety) he’s surprisingly up for another Marvel challenge despite the consequences of the accident, saying: “I’m always game. I’m gonna be strong enough, that’s for sure. I’ll be ready. All those guys come to my bedside and they’ve been with me all along through this recovery, so… if they want me, they could have me. It would be something.”
For those who don’t have the full story behind his accident: In January 2023, Renner was run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat, resulting in “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries, including eight ribs broken in 14 places, left tibia broken, left ankle, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken, and more.” The fact he lived to tell the tale is nothing short of amazing.
After reappearing in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Virtua Fighter may be getting a reboot – report
If you’re someone with a taste for Virtua Fighter, but are kind of sick about having to boot up Yakuza or Like a Dragon to play modern ports of the series, some good news may be in the pipeline. According to a leaker who has made some accurate predictions in the past, a Virtua Fighter reboot may be in the works.
Now, as with all news surrounding leaks, this should be taken with a grain of salt. However if this Virtua Fighter leak courtesy of MbKKssTBhz5 on Twitter is accurate, then it could mean a fresh lease on life for one of the fighting game genre’s oldest franchises. One seperate from the hip of excellent games like Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
The leaker elaborates on their claims in a follow-up tweet: “This is a reboot that is not in development by RGG Studio. It is being developed by staff from latest Virtua Fighter games. There are single player and multiplayer elements that are targeting casual and core players including competitive players.”

There’s no love lost between D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique. And, after the latter lit up the drama afresh during an interview on Club Shay Shay, it appears the beef in back on the griddle.

Prince Harry lands back in LA to be reunited with Meghan Markle & kids after 26hr UK visit to see King Charles
PRINCE Harry has landed back in LA to reunite with Meghan and their children following a 26-hour trip to the UK.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, jetted to London to see his father on Tuesday following the King’s cancer diagnosis.

William did not acknowledge his brother’s visit during a gala speech on Wednesday night[/caption]
But he was pictured arriving at London Heathrow at 1.30pm on Wednesday – just 26 hours after landing.
Harry was seen wearing a suit jacket, T-shirt and jeans as he began his return journey to California.
And he arrived at Los Angeles International Airport around 2.20am to reunite with wife Meghan and kids Archie, four, and Lilibet, two.
It is believed he spent his single night in London at a hotel, rather than a royal residence.
It comes as:
- The King has been diagnosed with a form of cancer
- Prince Harry rushed to the airport in LA to fly home to support his father
- He only stayed in the UK for 26 hours before jetting back home
- William made a speech thanking well-wishers
- Meghan will remain in California with their children
- The King personally called his siblings and children to tell them of his diagnosis
- Charles is receiving expert care from specialist doctors
- His Majesty returned from Sandringham to London to begin treatment
- Doctors advised the King to postpone public-facing Royal duties
- Camilla and William will step up to share the weight of the King’s duties during his treatment
- Charles will continue to receive Red Boxes and State documents
- Charles and Camilla shared a cancer message just a day before announcing his diagnosis
Harry had a brief reunion with his father on Tuesday, with the King delaying a helicopter flight to Sandringham so they could hold their first meeting in 16 months.
Their meeting was thought to have lasted little more than half an hour, with Harry and his entourage leaving Clarence House around 45 minutes after arriving.
Charles looked happy with the reunion as he was pictured for the first time since the Palace announced his cancer diagnosis on Monday.
An insider said: “Charles always keeps a tight schedule and had a planned itinerary to leave London to rest and recuperate in Norfolk.
“He is very fastidious about time-keeping but it was significant that he delayed the flight to Sandringham when he knew Harry was visiting.”
There was no reunion with William, though.
Sources had earlier said the Prince of Wales had “no plans” to see his brother during his brief stint in the UK.
It comes as Wills made a return to public engagements on Wednesday.
The prince publicly acknowledged his father’s health shock at a fundraising gala in London.
Inside Charles’s 30-minute reunion with Harry after King delayed helicopter to Sandringham so he could welcome his son
KING Charles spent 30 minutes with estranged son Harry — their first meeting in 16 months.
The Duke flew 5,000 miles from the US to London after his dad’s cancer diagnosis.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, landed at Heathrow at lunchtime following a ten-and-a-half hour overnight flight.
He was whisked to London while Charles, 75, delayed a helicopter flight to Sandringham so they could hold their first meeting in 16 months.
The King was said to be “doing very well” and “entirely his normal self”.
A friend who saw His Majesty said: “If you didn’t know there was anything wrong with him you wouldn’t know.”
Another Palace source said the King was “on his usual good form”, and “just a little frustrated that his condition has affected not just his own plans but impacted on others”.
He cracked a joke about “getting away from it all” during a speech at a fundraiser for the London Air Ambulance Charity.
Wills was also heard thanking Brits for their well-wishes ahead of the event.
Wills told guests at London’s Raffles Hotel: “Thank you for being here. And thank you to all those whose hard work has made this evening possible.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you, also, for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days. It means a great deal to us all.
Then in a light-hearted joke amid a stressful past three weeks, he added: “It’s fair to say the past few weeks have had a rather “medical” focus.
“So I thought I’d come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all.”
William also shook hands and posed for a photograph with Tom Cruise, before the pair chatted for several seconds and the Hollywood star gently patted the prince on his arm.
The prince also acknowledged the Hollywood actor in his speech.
He added: “I should also take this opportunity to give a mention to my – our – fellow pilot, Tom Cruise.
“Tom, huge thanks for supporting us tonight. And if you wouldn’t mind not borrowing either of the new helicopters for the next Mission Impossible, it would be appreciated.
“We have all seen on our screens that – how can I put it – you seem to have a different take on ‘normal wear and tear’ to the rest of us.
“It’s not the kind that buffs out, that’s for sure. Anyway, my thanks to everyone. You are all, each and everyone, lifesavers.”
Will did not mention Harry during the speech.
It came hours after he held an investiture at Windsor Castle.
The event was his first engagement after pausing his diary for three-and-a-half weeks to care for Kate and their three children following his wife’s abdominal surgery last month.
William was seen smiling and joking as he handed out gongs at the ceremony.
Working members of the Royal Family are said to be continuing with public engagements in the King’s absence.
Kate, though, is unlikely to be seen carrying out any frontline duties until after Easter, sources say, as she continues to recover.
William and Camilla are expected to share the weight of the King’s royal duties and engagements.
But the heir is understood to not be returning to full-time duties yet and instead “remains focused” on looking after his family.

Kate Garraway returns to host GMB today after star bravely opened up about Derek Draper’s final days

Kate will be back on Good Morning Britain on Monday just three days after her beloved Derek Draper‘s funeral.
The brave widow previously revealed she will return to our screens following the tragedy because “life has to start” again.
Holding back tears she said: “I don’t know how it’s going to be. Grief isn’t containable in a day or year.
“People ask why I’m going back to work. Life has to start. We have to pick ourselves up and go on.
“That’s what Derek would want me to do. Thank you to everyone who made it possible.”
She also revealed that son Billy was heading back to school.
“We have to pick ourselves up, that’s what Derek did and would want us to do”, she added.
“Grieving will continue. We’re in the foothills. Anyone who’s been through it will know. There’s a long way to go.”
Kate was last seen on GMB on December 8 before taking a break to look after Derek following his deterioration.
He sadly died less than a month later on January 3.
Talking about Derek’s four-year battle, Kate said it was important that he didn’t feel like he was letting his family down.
She said: “Derek’s spirit and fight to keep going, and the children, have been extraordinary throughout.
“It feels like five years and two minutes since Derek was in a positive place before the cardiac arrest which took him from us.
“It was the furthest from the spectre of death we could have been.
“It was a challenge to make sure he knew that he wasn’t letting us down because he couldn’t get through this last one.
“They were so beautiful, the children about that.
“Darcey said ‘If you can’t do this it’s okay, don’t worry about us. We will be OK. Don’t worry about mum. We will be fine. You don’t have to worry about looking after us all. You will live on through us’.
Last week, Kate said goodbye to Derek at his star-studded funeral.
The funeral of Derek Draper, which was attended by figures including former prime minister Sir Tony Blair, musician Sir Elton John and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, was held on Friday at the Church of St Mary The Virgin in Primrose Hill, north-west London.
It comes as…
- Kate revealed she held her husband’s hand as he died
- Derek’s last photo shows him at pal Peter Mandeson’s wedding
- Kate’s co-stars including Susanna Reid have led tributes to the dad-of-two
- Derek’s health battles revealed after he suffered heart attack before Christmas
- ITV bosses will give Kate ‘as much time off as she needs’
Former political lobbyist-turned-psychologist Draper married the GMB presenter at the same church in September 2005.
Draper fell seriously ill during the early part of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 and spent 13 months in hospital before he was discharged.
He died on January 3 aged 56 after suffering long-lasting symptoms from coronavirus.
Despite being scheduled to return full-time, ITV have offered their full support and said she can take time off as and when.
Heartbroken Kate has told pals she is keen to keep busy and get stuck into work as she continues to mourn Derek.
Mum-of-two Kate has also told bosses at Smooth FM she is keen to host her popular morning radio show there as well.
A source said: “Kate has had an incredibly rough past couple of months, and it has taken its toll mentally and physically.
“But she is a workhorse, and journalism, being on live TV, runs through her blood — it’s what she knows and loves.
“Kate is keen to keep busy and get stuck back into work.”
