Great news for you character-action fans watching the Sony State of Play tonight, as Stellar Blade (formerly Project Eve) was just shown off via a rad new gameplay and story trailer. The game got much more than just a proper name though, as we now know the title will be coming exclusively to the PS5 in 2023.
The new trailer can be found embedded below, which showcases a lot of excellent high fying, combo-centric melee action like we got only a glimpse off last year in the initial reveal trailer for Project Eve. Now, it looks like that action has only be turned up to 11 in the time away from the spotlight, with sci-fi fighting that has us foaming at the mouth.
In the trailer, we’re introduced to a variety of new friendly characters that come alongside us in a journey across a ruined and largely abbandoned world. It seems like a gigantic disaster botched the place up something serious, leading to a variety of nasty (and frankly, brilliant looking) enemies all over the gaff.
Shift Up’s action-packed PS5 game Project Eve debuted a new trailer at the PlayStation State of Play, along with its new title: Stellar Blade. The trailer showed more of what we expected from the first look, with a little more story context as well.
According to a PlayStation Blog post, the title refers to the Latin word for stars, along with the “blade” that represents the lead character, Eve.
The cinematic showed a transhumanist old man speaking about the fall of humanity, followed by a couple of characters exploring a vast area full of people in hibernation. One of the begs for help from Eve, and then we get a little taste of combat against some creepy organic-looking creatures. The blog details how Eve lands with her comrades on the ruins of earth and finds a survivor named Adam. He shows her to the city of Zion where the quest starts in earnest.
A talented gaming PC modder has created a build that looks like a Cyberpunk city with Blade Runner vibes, and the diorama looks like it has futuristic denizens dwelling within. If you’re familiar with the 1982 Ridley Scott classic, or even CD Projekt Red’s controversial RPG, you’ll instantly recognise this rig’s dystopian district theme, complete with glowing shop signs and citizens loitering around.

TaleWorlds Entertainment announced today that Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord will be released on PlayStation and Xbox consoles in October.
Developed as a multi-platform game since day one, the console version has the same gameplay features as the PC version. You can pre-order starting today to prepare for the game’s full release on October 25.
Currently available in Early Access on PC, it too will move to a full release on the same date.
Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is an ambitious project. For the uninitiated amongst you, think of the overall world map and battle management of Total War, mixed with the wandering, talking, and slashing of The Witcher 3. The whole thing is set up as a medieval life sim, and after being in early access for over two years, courtesy of Gamescom, it finally has a full release date.
