I’m A Celebrity 2022: Owen Warner has quadruple stack burger for last meal
McDonald’s offers up the McCrispy gaming chair, complete with fries holder and burger warmer
McDonald’s is certainly no stranger to wacky collaborations. We’ve seen the fast-food chain throw together themed meals for multiple stars, including the likes of BTS and Saweetie, and in recent times, Mcdonald’s even collaborated with Overwatch 2 to give away the Lightning Tracer Skin.
It appears that McDonald’s has found a market of gamers that it’d like to tap into, and as a result, the McCrispy Ultimate Gaming Chair has been born. Now, I joke about McDonald’s appealing to gamers, because let’s be real, we’re all ordering from McDonald’s on a more regular basis than we’d often like as is.
Sometimes, you’re on a roll, and there’s just no time to stop and make food; you’ve more wins to secure. This is not only where McDonald’s comes in, but the McCrispy Ultimate Gaming Chair, too. The chair itself hosts a bunch of features to make your McDonald’s x Gaming experience perfect.
Audio-Technica resurrects iconic Sound Burger portable record player
Audio-Technica resurrects its Sound Burger portable turntable from the ’80s
Audio-Technica is bringing back its iconic Sound Burger portable turntable. After nearly 40 years and countless clones, the updated model adds a few new features to make it more appealing to modern listeners. To start, the 2022 Sound Burger includes Bluetooth connectivity and a built-in lithium-ion battery with USB-C charging. In other words, you won’t need to source a trio of C-cell batteries to power the new model. According to Audio-Technica, you can expect to get about 12 hours of continuous playback from the 2022 Sound Burger before it needs to be charged.
The company has tweaked the design of the turntable in a few other ways. For one, you won’t find an extendable cord hanger for your headphones. Speaking of headphones, the 2022 model doesn’t come with a complimentary pair like its predecessor. However, it will ship with an RCA cable if you prefer to physically connect the turntable to your sound system. The 2022 model also comes stock with an Audio-Technica ATN3600L stylus. Otherwise, this is in many ways the same turntable a lot of people fondly remember. Like its predecessor, it features a DC motor with a belt drive that can play 33 1/3 and 45 RPM records, meaning you can use it to listen to both full-length LPs and singles. It also looks just as good as it did back in 1983.
The 2022 Sound Burger is available to buy starting today for $199/£200/€229. That’s a reasonable price when you consider a vintage model can set you back as much as $500 on eBay. No word yet if Audio-Technica plans to bring back the Mister Disc branding for the US release.
$4000 later, he’s starting a family: For some, MW2’s Burger King skin grey market is paying out big
Every once in a while, the video game industry provides an opportunity for a damn good hustle. A chance to make some cash through legitimate, albeit unintended, means. Moose runs in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, the party hat barons of RuneScape who trade colourful cosmetics for Scrooge McDuck levels of in-game gold, and now international Modern Warfare 2 Burger King skin sellers. For a few around the world, Activision Blizzard’s latest marketing promotion has cracked open an opportunity to make actual real-world cash, with a select through walking away with staggering profits.
But first, a recap for those uninformed. With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s launch, the marketing team behind the game had a great idea. Nothing quite goes together like an evening of grinding out a new video game and fast food, so why not bring those worlds together and offer players a free in-game skin and XP boost to help them on their way?
Food and drink are a tried-and-true vehicle for video game promotions. You’ve likely seen COD XP boosts on the side of energy drink cans, or other high-sugar gamer supplements. Burger King’s latest run is the latest in a long-standing tradition. But there is a gap in the campaign. Both the USA and UK have been left out of this global promotion, both countries jam-packed with hungry COD players. Hungry for both cosmetics and a cheeky experience bump. And burgers, too, probably. For those marooned away from the rest of the world, a grey market of code resellers is their only recourse.
Would you pay over £30 for a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Burger King DLC skin? Because some people are
Here’s a sentence I would have never predicted writing, even about a week ago: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fans are spending up to, and over, £30 on codes for a Burger King skin.
A quick look at eBay will show you that people are listing codes that have been picked up from Burger King, for a limited-time in-game cosmetic, and the going rate is often over £30. Some are higher – there’s demand for the supply, after all – and some are even charging extra for postage. Which is… interesting… given that you only need to enter the code into your console or PC to redeem it.
Burger King is currently offering a Call of Duty-themed meal that’ll reward you with a free in-game Operator Skin (basically, it’s just a t-shirt commemorating the fictional in-universe location, Burger Town) and an hour of double XP for Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer.
