Massive reward offered to catch gunman who killed nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel
A REWARD of £50,000 has been offered to find the gunman who killed Olivia Pratt-Korbel.
Tory peer Lord Ashcroft made the cash pledge as cops continue to hunt for the shooter who gunned down the nine-year-old down at her home in Knotty Ash, Liverpool.

The youngster was shot when a gunman chased convicted burglar Joseph Nee into her home on August 22.
A bullet passed through Olivia’s mum’s wrist before striking the youngster in her body – fatally wounding her.
She was rushed to hospital but declared dead later that night.
Officers have this week been searching at West Derby Golf Club where searches for the two guns used in the attack.
More on Olivia’s murder
Cops have arrested nine people in total in connection with her killing.
Lord Ashcroft has now pledged a £50,000 reward through Crimestoppers, of which he is chairman for information that leads to her killer being jailed.
It comes after Olivia’s mum issued a heart-breaking appeal to find her daughter’s killer – telling them “you know you have done wrong”.
With her hand wrapped in a bandage from the night she lost her daughter, Cheryl said: “She was amazing, she loved life. She was my little shadow. She went everywhere with me.

“She didn’t like school because she had to do work but she loved it because she was with all her friends.
“Everyone that she met they all fell in love with her.
“She left a mark on everyone that she met and she may well have only been nine but she packed a lot in them nine years.
“She never, ever stopped talking. And that is what I miss the most, because I can’t hear her talk.
“I am hoping that they come forward so this doesn’t happen to anybody else.
“You know you have done wrong so you need to own up like I have taught my kids. You do something wrong, you own up to it.”
It comes as Olivia’s classmates receive counselling after returning to school following her death.
Rebecca Wilkinson, headteacher of St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Junior School in Huyton, said: “What has been nice since the children have come back are the memories that they have shared from what they remember of Olivia and, in what has been a sad three weeks, that has been really heartening, to listen to the memories that the children have shared of her.
“That’s brought a lot of happiness really in what is a very tragic situation, listening to those memories.”
The school’s 480 pupils have been offered counselling since returning following the summer holidays.
Mrs Wilkinson said pupils would be allowed to wear pink nail varnish on Thursday, the day of Olivia’s funeral, in memory of the time when the schoolgirl tried to hide her hands from her headteacher to conceal her painted nails.

Students will not be attending the service, at neighbouring St Margaret Mary’s Church, Mrs Wilkinson said, but prayers will be written in school and an art project of flowers put together in Olivia’s memory.

iPhone 14 hands-on: We catch rare glimpse of NEW model with very special feature
FINALLY the new iPhone 14 is here – and The Sun has had an early look at the gadget.
I spent the day at Apple’s special launch event and got to see the brand new gadget in the flesh – or metal.
The iPhone 14 looks fantastic – and comes in five spiffing colours[/caption]

As predicted, it’s coming in two variants: iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
That’s a departure from last year’s iPhone 13 and 13 Mini.
The iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch screen, while the Plus features a 6.7-inch display.
Apple says the new model has ”the best battery life ever in an iPhone”.

Of course that’s impossible to check right now, but we’ll be testing it out soon enough.
You also get an OLED Super Retina XDR display, protected by Apple’s Ceramic Shield.
There are five colours available: Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple and Red.
It’s powered by last year’s A15 chip, with an improved GPU to help boost gaming.

Apple says the new iPhone offers 49% better low-light image capture.
There’s a larger sensor and faster focus, with an f/1.5 aperture.
According to Apple, night-mode photographs can now be snapped much faster.
And the selfie camera is also improved with a faster aperture, offering a 39% boost to low-light selfies.
Apple has equipped the iPhone 14 with a new and more advanced video stabilisation mode.
It’s called Action Mode, using the full sensor to make videos look incredibly stable.
Demo footage shown by Apple during the keynote was very impressive.
Unsurprisingly, the iPhone 14 features support for speedy 5G internet.
And you can also opt for an eSIM on your iPhone, ditching physical SIM cards.
It’s possible to store multiple eSIMs on a single device.
And it can’t be lost or stolen.
Apple has also added a new emergency feature to get help even when you’re off the grid in a remote location.
The new Emergency SOS lets you connect to a satellite, sharing your location with emergency services.
You’ll be alerted when satellite reception is available, and also when emergency responders have received the ping.
Satellite ’Find My’ alerts that let you relay your location to friends and family is available for free for two years with iPhone 14 purchases.
It’s only offered in the US and Canada initially – live from November.
The iPhone 14 costs $799, while the iPhone 14 Plus comes in at $899.
The $699 Mini we saw last year is gone, so the base model is now $100 more.
In the UK, you’ll pay £849 for the iPhone 14 and £949 for the iPhone 14 Plus.
Like-for-like, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 have identical pricing in the US. The UK has experienced a small price hike.

The iPhone 14 is out first on September 16, followed by the iPhone 14 Plus on October 7.
Can it do enough to keep Android rivals at bay? We’ll find out soon enough.

You can play Steelrising’s first two levels right now – but there’s a catch
As promised, Steelrising developer Spiders has launched the game’s closed beta. The beta is a pre-order bonus for buying either of the game’s editions early, and sadly isn’t available in any other way.
The Steelrising beta went live just a few minutes ago, and will continue to be available all the way until September 7, one day before the full game’s worldwide release.
As you’d expect, the content of this beta is limited. You’ll have access to the game’s first two levels, available to play as many times as you want. You’ll also find a couple of weapons to help you in your journey, and you’ll even be able to tinker with builds.
Burger King is giving away FREE whoppers – but there’s a catch
CUSTOMERS at Burger King can get their hands on free food this National Burger Day.
For one day only, customers will be able to eat a whopper for free.
You’ll need to use the Burger King app to take advantage of the offer[/caption]
However, all is not what it seems. The freebies are meat-free.
Burger King app users will be able to redeem a free plant-based whopper or vegan royale when ordering through click and collect.
The fast food chain is launching its “whopper swapper” scheme on Thursday, August 25 to celebrate National Burger Day.
You’ll save £4.99 with the offer, but you’ll need to act fast because only 10,000 burgers are on offer.

You need to add and redeem the free burger to a click and collect order on the same day – as you won’t get one after August 25.
The plant-based whopper is meat-free, but as it is cooked on the same broiler as the meat-based whopper it cannot be classified as vegan.
But vegans can take full advantage of a free vegan royale which is usually priced at £4.99.
The offer is available on click and collect orders only.

There’s no minimum spend required and no further purchase necessary.
One free item is permitted per person as part of the whopper swapper offer.
You won’t get a free burger if you order for delivery or at a kiosk in store.
The offer will be available across 237 participating stores.
You won’t be able to take advantage of the scheme at Burger King motorway service locations, airports train stations and holiday parks.
How else can I get free food?
Burger King has a loyalty scheme where you can collect 10 loyalty points for every £1 spent.
These points can then be redeemed to bag yourself free food on over 20 of the chains’ most popular items.
McDonald’s customers can also collect 100 points for every £1 spent but they’re only able to redeem their points on 15 popular items.
KFC has its own scheme where you can download its app and collect stamps to earn free food.

You have to spend £3 to collect one stamp, or you’ll get two stamps if you spend £15 in a single transaction.
Once you rack up 11 stamps, you’ll find a reward in the “My Rewards” section of the app to claim.

Catch up with news from THQ Nordic’s 2022 Digital Showcase and Publisher Sale
Yes, it’s getting towards the middle of August, but that doesn’t mean the big summer of game announcements is over yet – last night (August 12) we saw THQ Nordic take to the airwaves to show off a selection of new games, including a brand new Alone in the Dark reboot.
Founded in 2011, THQ Nordic is an Austrian video game publisher and developer that has been snapping up the rights to game properties and IP across the world, as well as funding its own studios to create new series. Developers like Black Forest Games, Bugbear Entertainment, Gunfire Games, HandyGames, Piranha Bytes, Purple Lamp Studios, Rainbow Studios and many more besides fit under the THQ Nordic umbrella, working on internationally renowned series like Wreckfest, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Destory All Humans!
The publisher is known for not just sticking to one style, too – whether you’re into motorsport, action-adventure, RPGs, or whatever else, there’s likely something you’ll be interested in coming from THQ Nordic. The publisher said itself that it wanted to “land a massive punch” with this showcase – and with Wreckreation and Alone in the Dark, it seems that mission was accomplished.
