Activision Investigating CoD: Warzone 2 Server Issues Following Community Outcry
Activision is finally investigating Call of Duty: Warzone 2 server issues that have plagued the game since the start of Season 3, which launched on April 12.
Since then, numerous players have encountered issues getting into games, stuttering during matches, and a plethora of other server-related issues. But now, over a week since the Season 3 launch, Activision has acknowledged the problem and is working on a fix.
“We are investigating reports of server-related gameplay issues and are actively working to resolve them,” reads the tweet from the official Call of Duty Twitter account.

Tears of the Kingdom Community Is Divided Over a Pretty Wild Ganondorf Theory
Do voxels still have a place in the new age of modding and community creators?
It’s a very interesting time for the tech that powers your favourite games. The industry is pushing forward on several fronts: AI, the metaverse, community content creation initiatives and, yes, even blockchain. It’s easy to get the impression that we’re on the precipice of a big new leap forward.
But where does that leave those who bet on the big cube roulette table that is voxel tech? We’ve seen some incredibly slick developments in that particularly geometric space over the past few generations; be it in gorgeous ray traced lighting, or jaw-dropping physics sandboxes. I spoke to Dennis Dawson and Marcus Gustafsson from Tuxedo Labs (best known for Teardown) about what place voxels have in an industry running forward at such a pace, and what we can expect from Tuxedo Labs in the future, too.
“We weren’t really ready to move on from Teardown. It’s still increasing in daily users – so we decided to hold off on a new game and keep working on Teardown,” states Dawson, CEO at Tuxedo Labs. Teardown, a game that blew many away back when it released in 2020, continues to have a growing audience of casual players and creators alike even today. The pair say they considered moving onto a new game following the Art Vandal update in 2022, taking their adventures with voxel games “to the next step”, but instead decided to stick with Teardown thanks to its active, and growing, player base.
Judy Blume tweets support of trans community amid J.K. Rowling controversy
Famed coming-of-age novelist Judy Blume has publicly expressed support of the LGBTQ community, in a response to a recent Sunday Times interview that appeared to align her with the anti-trans statements of fellow author J.K. Rowling.
The Sunday Times quoted Blume as saying, “I am behind her 100 percent as I watch from afar.” The story’s headline reads, “The bestselling children’s writer has shaped the minds of millions, just like the Harry Potter author — and she’s every bit as controversial.”
In a statement posted to Blume’s Twitter account on April 16, Blume said the comment was “taken out of context” and that she was merely expressing empathy with those who have been harassed online.
“I wholly support the trans community… I stand with the trans community and vehemently disagree with anyone who does not fully support equality and acceptance for LGBTQIA+ people. Anything to the contrary is total bullshit.”
Blume, known for her best-selling stories about sexuality, puberty, and other topics once seen as “taboo” for young children, is back in the press cycle for the newly released adaptation of her book Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. The book follows the story of an 11-year-old girl who is navigating the perils of becoming an adult, like growing apart from friends, sex-ed classes, menstruation, and even her own faith.
Following the story’s publication, some Twitter users came to Blume’s defense, noting that the article’s author, Hadley Freeman, has been criticized for her “gender critical” stances and even previously accused of interviewing literary icons to garner support of anti-trans rhetoric. In February 2022, Freeman profiled The Handmaid’s Tale author Margaret Atwood for The Guardian, questioning whether her anti-cancel culture stance was contradicted by her expression of support for the trans community in response to comments from Rowling.
Freeman issued a response to Blume on Monday, tweeting, “I don’t normally respond to nonsense like this because it’s absurd. But here are screenshots of Judy Blume’s and my conversation. For the record, my quotes are accurate and not disputed. I did not ask Blume about the criticisms against J.K. Rowling — she brought them up herself.”
In light of the controversy, Blume also posted quotes that reiterated her stance against book-banning and censorship, specifically noting her thoughts on the rise of anti-LGBTQ legislation while speaking at Variety’s Power of Women luncheon in April.
“I would like to end this on a sweet and positive note but the reality is, we are right back where we were in the ’80s except it’s the ’80s on steroids,” Blume said to event attendees. “This time it’s not the moral majority or only the religious right. This time it is coming from our government. Lawmakers, drunk with power, with a need to control everything. Sure it’s still sexuality, but it’s gender, it’s LGBTQ+, it’s racism, it’s history itself that’s under fire.”

CoD: Warzone 2 Community Update Details Changes To Pacing, Movement, And Snipers
Activision has released a community update blog for Call of Duty: Warzone 2, revealing some of the changes players can expect for Season 3. These new details include major updates to the battle royale’s pacing, movement, and sniper rifle damage.
Based on community feedback, Activision says Season 3 of Warzone 2 will bring improvements to the core pacing of matches, which includes a reduced delay time between circles closing towards the mid-game point, more ammo caches and Buy Stations, as well as the inclusion of UAV Towers to provide additional intel.
Changes are also being made to combat. As previously announced, one-shot sniper rifles are returning to the battle royale. Activision says one-shot snipers are being included in Season 3 to “create added variety in combat playstyles,” but there will be limitations to downing players in one shot. This will be limited to just the bolt-action snipers equipped with explosive ammunition type. Additionally, the MCPR-300 sniper rifle will have explosive ammunition added to its weapon progression unlocks for Season 3.
