Tunisia vs France – World Cup Group D: How they’re doing, injuries and prediction as French look to win every game
TUNISIA are looking to perform a minor miracle and beat the world champions to qualify for the last 16.
The Eagles of Carthage have yet to score in the World Cup and are on the verge of elimination.
They performed well in their opener with Denmark before coming a cropper against Australia.
France meanwhile are looking to make it three wins out of three after impressive victories over the Aussies and Danes.
Kylian Mbappe was the inspiration for both those wins and it remains to be seen whether he will be risked for this one.
SunSport takes a look at what to expect from Tunisia vs France including our score prediction.

How are they getting on?
Tunisia: The North Africans got off to a promising start in their opener with Denmark, where they were the better team in a 0-0 draw.
But they failed to rally after a Mitchell Duke header and went down to a 1-0 defeat in their second game against Australia.

France: Les Bleus laid down a marker in their opening game after coming from behind to hammer Australia 4-1.
A Kylian Mbappe brace then inspired them to a 2-1 win over Denmark, their first against the Danes in four attempts.

Any injuries to worry about?
Tunisia: The Tunisians have no injury worries with even second goalkeeper Bechir Ben Said returning to full fitness.
France: Where to begin?
Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante were among a number of seasoned internationals ruled out before the tournament started.
Karim Benzema is on holiday in Reunion with reports that he could make a surprise return to the squad before the end of the tournament appearing wide of the mark.
Theo Hernandez is France’s only left-back after brother Lucas was ruled out by injury.
Eduardo Camavinga may therefore slot in there for this match if Deschamps wants to rest the AC Milan man.
Second choice goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is a doubt for a match he may well have started, as he has a back issue.
Who to watch
Tunisia: Ferencvaros star Aissa Laidouni has impressed in the Tunisia midfield, ensuring it more than matched its Danish and Australian counterparts in the opening two games.
France: It’s difficult to look beyond Mbappe.
The PSG man has three goals in two matches and despite the possibility of him being rested for this game, it is claimed he is determined to start.
Permutations
If Australia beat Denmark in the other Group D game, Tunisia are out.
If the teams draw, Tunisia can qualify with a win over France.
If Denmark beat Australia, Tunisia must beat France by a bigger margin.
If Tunisia fail to beat France, they are out regardless of other results.
France have already qualified and know avoiding defeat will be enough to secure top spot in Group D.
Should France lose, Australia can top the group with victory over Denmark, but it will require a seven-goal swing.
What’s the head-to-head?
The teams have met competitively just once, with Tunisia winning 2-1 in the Mediterranean Games back in 1971.
Since then, they have played four friendlies with France winning two and drawing two.
Their last meeting was a 1-1 draw in a friendly in Rades, Tunisia back in 2010.
Odds
Tunisia 38-5
Draw 15-4
France 4-9

Australia vs Denmark – World Cup Group D: How they’re doing, injuries and prediction for winner-take-all clash
AUSTRALIA head into a decisive clash with Denmark knowing a draw will almost certainly be enough to see them through to the last 16.
That would make it only the second time the Socceroos have reached a World Cup knockout stage.
However, they arrive as underdogs against a usually-impressive Denmark side that has yet to click.
The Danes made it to the Euro 2020 semi-finals last year, but were held to a draw by Tunisia before losing to France at this tournament.
That means that they will require a victory in this one to make it through.

How are they getting on?
Australia: Graham Arnold’s side have confounded pre-tournament predictions to give themselves a great chance of qualifying.
Though they were outclassed by France in a 4-1 loss, they recovered to earn a crucial 1-0 win over Tunisia through Mitchell Duke.

Denmark: The Danes were disappointing in an opening 0-0 draw with the Tunisians which could cost them dear.
A narrow 2-1 defeat to France in their second match means only a win will do in this one.

Any injuries to worry about?
Australia: Nathaniel Atkinson picked up a knock against France and replacement Fran Karacic is likely to keep his spot after a strong display against Tunisia.
Hibernian striker Martin Boyle has been ruled out of the entire World Cup after an ACL injury on the eve of the tournament.
Denmark: Thomas Delaney will miss the rest of the tournament with a knee injury.
Mikkel Damsgaard replaced him during the France game and is likely to keep his place.
Who will be the star men?
Australia: Aaron Mooy has provided a typically assured presence in midfield and will need to do so again if the Socceroos are to qualify.
Denmark: The Danish squad is full of talent but it’s hard to look beyond Man Utd star Christian Eriksen as the main man.
Permutations
Australia will qualify automatically with a win over Denmark.
A draw will be enough if Tunisia fail to beat France.
Denmark must beat Australia by a margin equal to any Tunisian victory over France.
What’s the head-to-head?
The sides have met just once at the World Cup – four years ago.
That day, a Mile Jedinak penalty earned the Aussies a 1-1 draw after an early Christian Eriksen strike.
Australia and Denmark have met three more times, all friendlies, with the Aussies winning, losing and drawing one.
Odds
Australia 6-1
Draw 7/2

France vs Denmark – World Cup Group D: How they’re doing, injuries and prediction as reigning champions aim for win No2
FRANCE continue their defence of their World Cup crown when they face Denmark.
Les Bleus won the 2018 tournament in Russia and are hoping to make it a double in Qatar.
Didier Deschamps’ men stormed to an opening-day win but face a much-tougher test in their second match.
France face Denmark knowing a win – or possibly even a draw – would book their spot in the last 16.
The Danes were tipped as dark horses for the tournament, but stuttered to a draw in their first game.
SunSport takes a look at what to expect from the big game… including the all-important scoreline prediction.

Any injuries to worry about?
France: Oh yes… plenty of them too.
The French came into the tournament with a squad decimated by injuries, including key striker Karim Benzema, as well as midfielders Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante, to name a few.
So seeing Lucas Hernandez ruled out of the World Cup with an ACL rupture just 16 minutes into the win over Australia was less than ideal.
Denmark: Worryingly for them, they too have injury concerns.
Thomas Delaney was forced off during the draw with Tunisia and has also been ruled out of the tournament.
Who will be the star men?
France: It has to be that man Kylian Mbappe.
Olivier Giroud stole the headlines as he scored twice to equal Thierry Henry’s goals record for France.
But Mbappe is the bright spark, the man who makes the French really tick and anything good will likely start – or perhaps end – with him.
He also scored in the big win over the Socceroos.
Denmark: Christian Eriksen is back at a major tournament just 18 months after his horror cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.
He wasn’t quite at his best against Tunisia, but the Manchester United star is their playmaker extraordinaire and will look to pull the strings in the middle of the park.

What’s the head-to-head?
The two nations have played each other 16 teams, with France edging the record with eight wins to go with six losses and two draws.
However, Denmark hold the momentum having won BOTH of their Nations League matches – in June and September – this year.
They drew 0-0 in the final match of the group stages at Russia 2018 as both teams reached the knockout rounds and France went on to win the tournament.

Tunisia vs Australia – World Cup Group D: How they’re doing, injuries and prediction as both nations hunt for first win
TUNISIA and Australia go head-to-head knowing nothing but a win will do.
Both nations failed to win their opening Group D match.
And if either have any aspirations of reaching the last 16, they almost-certainly need to win this one.
This is each team’s easiest match of the group stage on paper, with France and Denmark the likely candidates to make it into the knockout stages.
No pressure, then…

How are they getting on?
Tunisia: The major underdogs against tournament dark horses Denmark, they managed to snatch a creditable 0-0 draw.

Australia: It all started so well, shocking reigning champions France by taking a 1-0 lead.
But they were ultimately thumped 4-1, as Adrien Rabiot, Olivier Giroud (two) and Kylian Mbappe got on the scoresheet.

Any injuries to worry about?
Tunisia: There are no fresh injury concerns for Jalel Kadri.
But Wahbi Khazri – the leading scorer in the squad – should return to the squad following an injury that saw him miss matchday one.
Australia: Graham Arnold has a fully-fit squad to choose from.
Now he just needs to decide whether to overhaul his squad following their defeat to France or stick to his guns.
Who will be the star men?
Tunisia: Wahbi Khazri has the potential to be his nation’s key in this one.
Returning from injury, the former Premier League striker who played for Sunderland, is his side’s top goal threat.
And after a goalless opening match, he’ll be sorely needed.
Australia: Goals win games, and like Tunisia, the Aussies will need to lean on their main man.
Mathew Leckie has 13 international goals to his name and will look to add to that on the biggest stage in Qatar.

What’s the head-to-head?

France vs Australia – World Cup Group D: Teams news, how they made it and prediction as reigning champs hit by injuries
WITH the World Cup finally underway every team in the tournament is hotly anticipating their first game in Qatar – with the pressure on holders France perhaps the greatest.
The depleted world champions face Australia in Group D looking to avoid a major upset.

The 2018 World Cup winners will be desperate to retain their title despite having a host of big names side-lined for the tournament.
These two teams faced off in the group stage at the Russia World Cup.
France ran out 2-1 winners back then as both sides converted penalties and were only separated by an Aziz Behich’s own goal.
Here, SunSport takes a look at whether those fortunes could change as they lock horns again at the 40,000 seater Al Janoub Stadium.
How did they get there?
France: Qualified in first place of their qualifying group.
They did not lose a single match in the process and topped the group by six points and a goal difference of +15.
Australia: The Socceroos were one of the final teams to qualify for the World Cup.
They only confirmed their ticket to Qatar in June after beating Saudi Arabia and then Peru in World Cup play-off matches.

What’s the form?
France: Les Blues have been in patchy form for most of the year, winning just three of their eight games in 2022 as Didier Deschamps experiments with a new formation.
They lost their most recent game in the UEFA Nations League 2-0 to Denmark and narrowly avoided relegation to the second tier.
Australia: The Aussies were one of the last teams to make it to the World Cup but have enjoyed strong recent form despite a rough start to 2022.
They have won each of their last five games which has included both World Cup qualifiers and a pair of friendlies against New Zealand.
Who are the managers?
France: Didier Deschamps has been in charge of the French team for an entire decade now.
He took over in 2012 and has overseen the creation of a global superpower – much like the France side he was in as a player which won the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship.
Under his stewardship France made it all the way to the finals of Euro 2016 before winning the 2018 World Cup in dominating fashion.

Australia: Graham Arnold will be giving up something in terms of experience against Deschamps as he enters his first World Cup with Australia.
He was appointed for his second stint shortly after the 2018 World Cup and has maintained Australia’s record of reaching the World Cup on every occasion since 2006.
In 2019 Australia crashed out of the quarter-finals of the Asia Cup despite being the reigning champions.

Who are the star players?
France: KYLIAN MBAPPE will once again be likely to make the headlines as he takes an even more prominent role in Didier Deschamps side than the one he did in 2018.
The PSG superstar was France’s top scorer alongside Antoine Griezmann in Russia.
And with Karim Benzema ruled out of the squad the onus will once again fall on Mbappe to score the goals for Les Blues.
It truly is a testament to the quality of players from France that despite missing a host of big names likes Ballon d’Or winner Benzema plus midfield mainstays Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante they still have a squad spilling over with quality.
Australia: AARON MOOY will likely be the man tasked with trying to lead Australia to the latter stages.
The Socceroos have only made it past the group stage of the World Cup on one occasion – 2006 – and the difficult group they have landed in means their hopes of doing so again look bleak.
But former Huddersfield midfielder Mooy will be looked to to make sure Australia both defend stoutly and attack with creativity.
And his ability to find space in midfield and snuff out danger will be pivotal against a new-look France midfield.
What’s the head to head?

Considering the recent history of fixtures between these two sides and their respective recent achievements, there is only really one way this is expected to go.

Denmark vs Tunisia – World Cup Group D: How they got there, form & prediction as Eriksen returns to the biggest stage
DENMARK open up their World Cup campaign against Tunisia on Tuesday.
The pair have met once before in a pre-2002 World Cup friendly and are set to kick-off at 1pm UK time at the Education City Stadium, Al Rayyan.
All eyes will be on Christian Eriksen following his Euros scare[/caption]
The Danes are looking to build on their excellent showing at Euro 2020, where they reached the semi-final before being knocked out by England.
Christian Eriksen will be a key source of inspiration and all eyes will be on the Manchester United playmaker following his scare at the Euros.
The midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated on the pitch as his team-mates provided a protective shield around him.
Eriksen is now fit and healthy and ready for action in Qatar after being fitted with an ICD heart-starter device.

Tunisia: Jalel Kadri’s side looked far from their best in their two September friendlies.
First they struggled to overcome Comores in a 1-0 win before being thrashed 5-1 by Brazil.
They did manage to beat Iran 2-0 in a warm-up game before the tournament kicked off.
Star men to look out for
Denmark: Eriksen will pull the strings and create chances for hitman Kasper Dolberg, as will Tottenham midfield dynamo Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
That pair are likely to make up a midfield three alongside Dolberg’s Sevilla team-mate Thomas Delaney.
Denmark’s 4-3-3 formation served them well at the Euros and key men Kasper Schmeichel and Barcelona’s Andreas Christensen will be crucial to keeping things tight at the back.
Tunisia: Former Sunderland ace Whabi Khazri is the man they will be looking to keep quiet – the winger scored 24 goals in 71 games for Tunisia and helped his side reach the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final last year.
United winger Hannibal Mejbri will also be looking to boost his profile on the international stage, if he can force his way into the starting XI.
Tunisia’s most capped player Youssef Msakni could pose problems on the left flank, and Ellyes Skhiri will be tasked with keeping a close watch on Eriksen.

The Sims 4 rent is too d*** high
Across many parts of the world, rents are rising faster than renters can keep up – and it appears The Sims 4 rent does the same thing. Players who have jumped into EA’s popular life game since it went free-to-play this month have sometimes been stunned by their monthly bills – oftentimes, because they’re unaware of how those are calculated.

Resident Evil Village’s Lady D has been shrunk down for Mercenaries
Resident Evil Village Gold Edition is set to release in just a few weeks on October 8, alongside the Winter’s Expansion. With their release, many of us will be headed back to Village once more to see what Rose Winters is capable of in the Shadows of Rose DLC, or to go and fight hordes in Mercenaries.
In an interview with Polygon, game director Kento Kinoshita had plenty to say about Mercenaries, including exactly what it might feel like finally playing as every Resident Evil fan’s favourite vampire, Lady Dimitrescu.
Mercenaries will feature the playable debut of both Lady D and Karl Heisenberg, and when asked about adapting new characters for the game mode, Kinoshita shared, “When adapting them for The Mercenaries, we made a conscious effort to give each one their own distinct feel. Chris is a hybrid character that combines long-range attacks (firearms) with close-combat (fists). Meanwhile, Heisenberg wields magnetic force to unleash close-range assaults.”
